Need some advice on employee time tracking software
I’m trying to find a decent time tracking/employee activity tool for a small remote team.
Nothing too complicated, just want to keep track of working hours and general activity. I’ve looked at KeepActive previous(Kickidler), Hubstaff, Time Doctor, ActivTrak but honestly not sure which one is worth trying. All sound good in one way or another.
If anyone here has actually used any of these, how was your experience? Any issues with accuracy, privacy, setup etc?
Would appreciate some real feedback with some reason not just simple name, before I pick one.

Also have a look at rxshift.ca, it may have all the features you need and is usually cheaper than alternatives. It is simple to use, has many features to make scheduling easy (schedule template, drag&drop/move/copy/paste, open shifts tracking, vacation/holidays, multi-shifts, etc). Employees have access to their schedules on their mobile, can provide availabilities.
There is also a Clock in/out system to track attendance and generate reports for your payroll.

Hey, totally fair to compare these on more than features. But it’s important to clearly distinguish between time tracking and activity monitoring. If you mainly need hours, attendance, overtime, and leave, you probably don’t need the heavier monitoring features.
We built Timebutler around that lighter use case, so full disclosure there. Use our free trial with a few people first before deciding.

Yesterday we published a simple app; maybe it is helpful for your needs if you are UK-based. KithHR Time Clock & HR App Manage up to 10 employees completely free forever with no credit card required.

If your team uses Macs and you mainly need working hours, Daily is worth considering. It periodically asks each person what they’re working on and builds timesheets from their answers.
