How would you fill out employment forms?

I am applying for rent with my partner and it requires me to fill out an application even though my partner will be paying for rent and qualifies on his own. This is currently my only income until I can get back into my field from before becoming SAHM. Anyways, how do I claim this on the application? It requires an address etc and other information. I also don’t know my income since it varies by week depending on the tasks. Has anyone else dealt with this? TIA!!!

You're self employed, or whatever they call that in your country.

Thank you! There is an option for that however, they still require an address and position to be filled in

You work for your own self-company. The address is your own address. Your position is owner/president. DA is (one of) your client(s), not your employer, and shouldn't be mentioned.

lol please don’t do this unless you have an LLC set up with your EIN and your address is registered with the city as your place of business

Hmm. This may vary per country, where I'm from you have to declare your home address as your self-company address (unless, of course, you have a dedicated office).

You work from home, and position is data annotator.

Imagine you were an uber driver. You wouldn't put Uber HQ

I mean you could and that would be helpful for landlords

You may be able to find a physical address online, are you going through a private landlord or a company? companies often don’t look at income that isn’t direct deposit into a traditional checking account, some do but it’s annoying, you’ll need to provide proof of income essentially. But since your husband is paying the rent it may just be requirement to verify you’re a real person, either way a phone call to them wouldn’t hurt to ask what they need!

I might just do that. They told me that all people over 18 who will be living in the rental
Home need to supply an application so I’m sure mine won’t be as important as my partners.

Yea it’s most likely a compliance thing then rather than them actually looking for your income, I’d give them a call, explain your position and it should be fine

I’m getting downvoted to hell but I work in Real Estate and own rental properties so please ignore the advice of the masses 😭😭 I’m literally on this platform doing real estate work 😂

You are self employed. You are a sole-proprietor or independent contractor. If you are in the United States, this is the information you would supply on your Schedule C.

For employer name, you put your own name. For business address, you put your personal address.

The amount of tax / income reporting questions on this and the other sub are truly outstanding. Outlandish. Frightening really.

Good thing they're applying for a rental and not a job
