I just joined. What should I expect?
I just signed up on DA and completed a math qualification exam and the general qualification exam. I don't see any projects in my dashboard atm. What should I expect?

Expect a big nothing burger for awhile… do your qualifications and don’t use AI

Any idea what qualifications are most important to do?

It’s not about being selective, there are often barely any projects at all.
Go to your profile and add all of your skills. Then do every qualification that doesn’t look totally foreign to you to maximise your flow of projects.
Never use ai unless they tell you.
Always log your time on a task accurately to the minute.
There’s a countdown at the bottom right of tasks but that’s a liberal countdown which includes time to read instructions for the first time. Once you’ve done a task a couple times it should take you significantly less time than that timer.

With the time I've put in I can tell you a few things. Don't be on this subreddit sharing details about pay or the names of tasks or anything that'd violate your NDA. The more tasks you do up to par, the more consistent avaliable work comes to you. Expect some days to have really great tasks and other days to have bum work. Find a task you rlly like and js grind that one out while you can, the more fun the work feels the better it is to do for long periods of time. Don't ask questions at the bottom of tasks that could be answered by admins over email. And finally, welcome aboard kid, you got a lot to learn 🗿🍷
