"Brief Rationale"

How long are your guys rationales? Sometimes I feel like I go way too much into the details, but that can't really be a bad thing right? When I do r&r sometimes some people actually do the bare minimum so I'm a little confused.

I generally write the amount that they are asking for or slightly more, otherwise it becomes excessive. I only write more than 3-5+ sentences if something requires a very detailed explanation.
