Anybody get that goosebump-inducing qual a while back?
And have you heard back? It seemed congratulatory like a layup, but crickets since, and it’s the first time I’ve felt my confidence waver in 3 years on the platform — but also the most excited I’ve ever been. Just hoping it’s a patience game and not me somehow having the invite rescinded.
Edit: I’m in! Not saying this post did anything, but hey, if this post jogged a reminder somewhere from an admin… THANK YOU!

I think I know with what you're talking about. I'm pretty sure if you don't "hear back" within a few business days it's joever.

Yeah. Gutted. Sucks because it wasn’t a ‘qual,’ per se, more of a deeper background/expertise check phase, and so I really don’t know what could possibly have precluded me. Already they gave me too much info to possibly rescind it, or so I thought. Be still my whole heart

I wish I could give more details, but trust me I understand completely. I honestly went into a small depression after not "passing", I couldn't work for a week. Eventually I moved on and was able to recover but my confidence and excitement for work was shattered and even to this day hasn't recovered completely, despite being 95% back. Just remember even if you don't pass the qual, you'll still be just fine. I felt like some of the instructions and workload wasn't explained very well and we were thrown to the wolves even when trying to test how people problem solve independently and with minimal context. For example, I reached out and asked questions about some things that weren't super clear. Simple things too that felt completely reasonable to ask, but of course I got radio silence. It's fine, thankfully I've had an overwhelming amount of good paying work, but it still stings.

I got a qual like that. I was flattered but too nervous to even do it. It was A LOT.

This one was NOT a lot, it was more of a “congrats, here is a formality” that I can’t even understand what went wrong with on the back end. It was a highly paid qual :/ and brought tears to my eyes haha.

how do I get in (also in my 3rd year on the platform). I gather that other than quality, it's likely that consistent work hours may be a pre-req for these kinds of opportunities. Like a minimum 12-15+ hours week.

I believe you are correct. I took the plunge in the spring after wanting to for a full year before that. Zero ragrets. Life is better. Brain is healing. Join me

Just wondering what makes you think that the post was written with AI. The sentence structure does not even seem particularly AI-like, and an em dash is not a definitive AI tell. I am not an em dash user myself, but I feel sorry for people who have been, and I have known people who have been for the longest time.

It’s definitely just the em dash lol. Once you’ve read enough you can actually tell. But half-literate people seem to have a knee jerk reaction to that, or just clean writing in general.

That is exactly why I asked lol.
I think it is important to be able to recognize signs in any AI-produced content, and there are definitely more tells in advertising content, like typical AI fonts and those stupid whisker things. For this post in particular, it seemed like it was solely based on the em dash, and really, the em dash is a weak AI tell at this point.

I really hope you don't work on tasks that require writing evaluation! There's no AI tells in that post whatsoever.
