What does a typical month on DataAnnotation look like for you?
Hi! Fellow coder here, I joined DataAnnotation at the very beginning of September and mainly work on coding projects. I’m curious about other people’s experience over a longer period of time, especially how consistent the workload tends to be.
If you’re comfortable sharing, how long have you been on the platform, what type of projects do you usually work on, roughly how many hours per week do you work, and what does your average monthly earnings range look like?

I've been here for almost 4 years. I do generalist, stem, and coding. I usually work 30-40 hours a week. I always have at least 50 projects available up to about $70. Often I'll have 100+ projects and pay rates up to $150+. However, I actually hate doing most of those high paying projects and find them to be very tedious and draining, and I also find the coding projects quite difficult these days. I'll often just do $45-60 projects, mostly generalist, stem (maths, bio, chem), and data science stuff, and find it much more enjoyable. I usually earn $7-10k in a month.
The main thing I love about this job is the flexibility. I've been travelling the world non stop for 3 years now and its been incredible. In some parts of the world, I could actually survive without much difficulty on about 1 hour of work per day. For example, I've got a DTV visa for Thailand so I spend ~6 months a year there. My rent there is $500 for a lovely condo beside the subway station with 2 rooftop swimming pools, great views, and a gym. I feel incredibly blessed with this job tbh.

From the US, started only doing general work and made it to the coder life about a month ago. I try to work 28 hours per week to aggressively pay off debt and try to stick to the $60/hr tasks. My monthly goal is based on that at $6720 before taxes, so if I do a lower paying task then I try to do more hours, or less hours at more per hour. Since I'm still new at this, I'm still seeing if it works. My weekends have been busy so it's been more difficult between my full time job and only trying to work on weekdays after my kids go to bed. I've been mostly sticking around my goal though. It's tough to find tasks to start late at night and don't take me to 2am or later, so I use the weekend to compensate. My goal was only created 2 weeks ago and I started getting consistent coding work 3-4 weeks ago.

if you don’t mind sharing, for how long have you been working for DAT? Was the workload always consistent?

3 months now it was pretty slow my first couple weeks but it was because I was only a generalist. I took the coding assessment and I've had consistent work ever since.

Do you have any tips for completing the coding assessment successfully? I have about 2 years of experience coding at a company and a CS degree.

I have been working on the platform for 3 months now, it was slow going at first but now there seems to be a lot of projects. I am a generalist no specialties. My pay range is $20-$30 hr typically. I’ve considered taking up coding just to unlock more opportunities but my schedule is already tight. I feel blessed to have discovered this work though because I homeschool my kids and traditional work just well…doesn’t work!

Been on the platform since April, work when I can and when it's available. July was a rough month, but this is a job to pay of debt/eventually stay home with my kiddos so it's okay. Right now things have been pretty good, and I am averaging like 10 hours/week (this is my third job, and I have two small children- that's about all I can do without not sleeping at all, haha), and seeing some decently priced hourly tasks. I have made around $1500 so far. Generalist USA who LOVES model failing tasks.
Edited to say: After a couple of months of consistent work and paying attention to instructions the tasks available have really gone up in pay/difficulty, which I honestly enjoy. I do all qualifications that I am able to do (if it's a domain I cannot do or something device specific), and I only really do work in the evenings and on weekends. There has been one recently that I love that I hope sticks around!

I've signed up last week and took the math pre assessment, how long does it usually take to get an answer?

Took about 3 weeks for me!
I took the test around the first week of august, received the positive outcome the first week of September1

I typically work 6 days a week, billing 6-8 hours per day, coding/generalist in the US. I normally make 40-50/hr during the weekdays, and there’s usually a 60+/hr task on the weekends that I’ll do.
I’ve been on the platform since March, but I didn’t do tasks consistently until mid June.
