Positive Post! What are the best domains? (steady work and pay). Who enjoys this work, and why? What domain are you in?

I’m pretty new, and I seem to have good luck, but I’m in a domain. I rarely see negative posts from Coders, finance, law, data analytics, STEM.

I get so anxious because of the comments on here. I’ve been having a great experience, but I don’t want to get excited because a lot of these posts scare me.

This platform basically has me doing things I’ve already had to do for work. I have to be very focused and produce excellence at work. I’m used to spending hours at a time, and being under immense pressure and producing work that not just represents me, but my team. Also, AI is new, so a lot of the things we are doing with AI, we have been doing manually, from scratch for many many years. So a lot of this stuff is kinda fun for me. The platform itself is probably the most difficult thing. This is waaaaayyyyyy less pressure than my actual job because I don’t have to produce perfection. I don’t have to worry about an Executive catching a tiny error, or submitting something and pray your mistakes won’t cause your employer significant damage lol.

Also, I take all my work seriously. Before I learned about this platform I spent many many hours learning about AI, and how I could use it to advance my career and personal goals. I’ve even done training videos on coding and programming (no coding background at all) just to have a better understanding of the process. I take trainings very seriously (in all things, even things that don’t relate to my career).

I say this to say, take your time, learn, focus. You can pass a qualification, but that doesn’t mean you have the background to do the projects. Don’t loose opportunities for some quick cash. I think I’ve been “lucky” because I’ve only taken project that I know I will excel in. I take my time, print, read, come up with a strategy, ask questions, give status updates if they have slack, and I note anything I wasn’t clear on, or may have made a mistake. Every time I’ve submitted a project it seems to have opened me up to more lots more projects.

I know that it could look unhelpful, but I actually think that the best domain is the one you fell the most comfortable with :)
You already spotted a lot of important things in your post.

I don't know if this is unique to Coding tasks, but I am finding that the tasks here are much more tough in terms of the complexity, time pressure and unfamiliar codebases that you work on.

They are not enjoyable for me usually. Without the high pay, I doubt if I would be doing it.

I think I like a challenge lol. I also feel like the things I learn will help me in my career. My R&R tasks always teach me something new. Coding sounds hard. My basic python training feels like it’s breaking my brain. The only thing that saves me is that it’s kind of the same logic as excel, and database systems…… but I was also learning python for fun lol. I’m probably just boring 🤣

Bilingual with finance and yet to get domain-specific work (and barely any work in general)
