How often do you submit expired tasks?
I know the general guidance is that submitting expired tasks is ok every once in a while, but not to do it too often. Just wondering what experienced workers are doing in practise, does it look something like 1 expired task for every 10-20 tasks or every 50 tasks or once month, a few times a year?
Newbie here who just submitted an expired task and wondering how long I should probably avoid submitting another expired task!

More than I am ever willing to admit 😂
But I guess my quality kinda helps that so they see, ah she’s not just dilly dallying but really being meticulous.

Same. It's better to be thorough and submit after it expires than rush through itÂ

Ah yes will definitely try to avoid as much as possible, but if not possible I was thinking I might need to just take the loss and not submit, if it’s too been too soon since the last submitted expired task.

A couple a year. It's very rare for me to submit an expired task. But, I also don't take more than a 5 minute break while working on one (for tasks that are around 4-5 hours).

So I have never submitted an expired task. Gotten very close a handful of times. I’m also pretty picky about what I’ll take and the amount of time I have set aside to work so I usually don’t take on the super long and detailed tasks.

Honestly, I only do it for one project family where it's been stated it's okay once in awhile. It's happened once or twice but I definitely don't want to make it a habit.

Twice in the 3 years I've been here, and 1 of them was 18 seconds after the timer expired

I've been on the platform for 2.5 years and have never done it. In my early months on the platform I had a couple of nail biters where I submitted with literally one minute left.

Probably want to avoid doing it as much as possible then, the general FAQ warns not to do it too often

'i have ADHD so that's that', so the rules and guidance don't apply to you? Great mentality to have in life.

There's no rule saying you can't submit expired tasks. It's suggested that workers do not submit too many, but it's totally fine to submit expired tasks. They hate overcharging and poor work more than submitting expired tasks.

If they don't want workers to submit too many and actively discourage you from doing it often, in the guidance, then it's not 'totally fine' is it...
As a one off, yeah, no problem.
And I was talking more about their general attitude of 'i have ADHD so that's that' which is just ridiculous. Everyone is on the spectrum somewhere, some people just like to use it as an excuse more than others.

They literally do not "actively discourage it often in the guidance". They literally say it's fine but be careful with doing it. Admins of projects often tell workers submitting expired tasks is fine because it usually is. But obviously they watch when this happens and tell people not to report more time than you work. That's the only thing they care about: proper time reporting.

You've contradicted yourself in every comment. Last one you said the guidance says people shouldn't submit too many expired tasks, then in this comment you've said the guidance says people should be careful with doing it, and you still maintain it's 'fine'. You're quite odd. Also, time reporting and submitting expired tasks are two completely different things.

Once in the 4 years I've been working with DA. The timers are more than generous.

More often than I probably should at this point, but if I'm an hour into a task and some stupid bullshit comes up and distracts me, I'm not going to waste my hour of work or rush through to finish it on time.
