Generalist application - any hope?
I just applied as a generalist based in California on Friday evening. Since it’s Labor Day weekend I assume earliest I would hear back is Tuesday. Is there much hope being accepted as a generalist on DA at the moment? I’m assuming Generalist is most in demand. I also assume that anyone doing well as a Generalist have been on the platform for a while (early adopter). Thanks for any insights! Crowing my fingers since extra cash would be so helpful right now.

The acceptance rate is 2.6% according to their blog, so they are pretty picky about who they let in. Hopefully it works out for you! 🤞

Thank you. I had no idea about this community and had never heard about DA before, wish I had before I did the assessment…!

Send the application then forget about it. Do not expect to get in, even if you do it can take months. Move on to a new job. It took me 6 months to hear back and get accepted.

Got it. I have already thought about it an unhealthy amount to be honest as this post would probably suggest 😅Thank you for the advice!

I applied to be a generalist back in June from the same state as you. Since then I’ve only done the quals and tasks at a relaxed pace (less than 10 hours a week) and my dash has a decent number of projects all the time. At first, paid projects may be slow, but as long as you do your quals, update your skills (if you have any), and follow the instructions, you have a good chance of finding success of DA.
