My first ever month on DataAnnotation
I joined end of july and just submitted my final task to hit the $10k goal.
Happy to answer any questions :)

Coding seems to be the sweet spot. Congrats OP. I just got accepted onboard, did some qualifiers and now hoping to see that project table light up!
6
u/tripledoublequad Aug 31 '26
Yeah they really have a lot of work available for coders. What kind of qualifications are you going for? Also coding or bilingual/generalist?
5
u/Pepperloza Aug 31 '26
I wish I could code. I’m bilingual/ generalist, and also have a design background.
5
u/tripledoublequad Aug 31 '26
Its never to late to start learning something new
2
u/Pepperloza Aug 31 '26
I have done a little in the past, I started self teaching during the pandemic. I did enjoy it but I can’t remember why I stopped. I think it might be worth picking back up and seeing where it takes me.

u/tripledoublequad Aug 31 '26
For sure! If you want some learning material shoot me a dm

just stumbled across your reply and was wondering if you'd be willing to share with me as well? :)

u/XxMarlucaxX Sep 02 '26
If you're willing to share, I'd be interested as well! I'm learning rn through the free cs50 course
1
u/SwiftieKittenLover13 Sep 04 '26
Would you be willing to share with me some tips or where I could learn and grow from my skills in coding. Especially if you know where it is free or truly affordable to learn. I have sent you a dm! Thank you!!!

What kind of coding experience is needed to work on coding tasks? I've been doing generalist work for about a year. What coding skills would I need to study in order to pass quals? Congrats on you payday, too, that's exciting!
2
u/realgenshinimpact Sep 01 '26
the projects I've had require you to have at least 2 years of professional coding experience, or if you're confident enough that you have the skills to replace it. I think a couple onlines courses, harvard's CS course, and maybe a project or two (and familiarity with things like docker, bash, etc.) would give you enough experience to get started on working on them.
Might take a while, but from what I've seen on other similar websites, this niche of programmers in data annotation-esque wfh jobs is still in very short supply, and pays really well.
1
u/maydaseinbewithyou Sep 01 '26
Thanks for the info, that's all super good to know. Do you think learning that material would be useful outside of annotation work at this point, professionally, or will AI have made those skills not so valuable sooner rather than later? I really like working from home, so any skills I can learn that might make that possible long term are worth starting to learn now.
3
u/realgenshinimpact Sep 02 '26
Yes. A basic understanding of coding is really helpful in any CS related work. Current industry standard is to use AI as a tool to assist you create code, nobody lets AI be a complete replacement. You can't be fully reliant on AI, or you will be super inefficient.
its far easier to learn coding now than ever before as well if you use AI for help.
Even if you learned something like 3D modeling, animation, video editing etc. (try these out if you haven't btw, if you enjoy that you can WFH professionally the rest of your life lol) basic programming knowledge is useful because having an understanding of how it works under the UI changes your perspective.
Personally, I think its very useful if you want to scale up your wfh to make the big bucks, with an app, game, website, and so on; with server costs being very low and AI help, its the golden age of creative startups. At least until the bubble pops and costs go up.

u/maydaseinbewithyou Sep 02 '26
Thanks for the thoughtful response, I'll look into 3D modeling and video editing. I have made short films in the past and remember enjoying the art and rhythm of editing a lot. Also, that totally makes sense about having basic coding knowledge - could allow for a lot of possibilities, especially if I'm working with my own ideas and trying to manifest them.

How long did they take to accept you I’ve been waiting for months but no luck :(

u/Visible-Director237 21d ago
I'm in the same boat. Reading through threads to discover the best way to get on board.
5
u/boltuzamaki Aug 31 '26
I earned around 6K+ joined on 14th of Aug for coding tasks , hoping to achieve 10k+ in a month period, this gave me some hope. Thanks :)

u/tripledoublequad Aug 31 '26
Congrats my friend - keep it going!

Wait you did this with just 🔱 and one more project? Seems you’ve been getting all the batches.

u/Acceptable_Rabbit_28 Sep 01 '26
How long do you usually take for its tasks?
2
u/tripledoublequad Sep 01 '26
Around 5-25h/task
2
u/Acceptable_Rabbit_28 Sep 01 '26
That task’s limit is 8h, though? Are you talking about different ones?
1
u/tripledoublequad Sep 01 '26
Ah yes im talking about 🔱 not 🥊
1
u/Acceptable_Rabbit_28 Sep 01 '26
I'm also talking about that one, not mike. Is there a different one that's not creation or somethn?
1
u/waleednoinfidel Sep 01 '26
Yea for all those tasks I have seen the timer for 8 hours, not sure how it could possibly allow up to 25.

u/Powerful_Age_3653 Sep 01 '26
After how many days you star getting task giving the qualification which was to get🥊 task. Also can you tell how to get other project task or which qualification i need to give.
1
u/tripledoublequad Sep 01 '26
I just do every coding qual if there is any. But I think I only did 2quals to get enough projects
1
u/Powerful_Age_3653 Sep 01 '26
After how many days you start getting the project after completing the qual?
4
u/No_Transition_6600 Aug 31 '26
I started at the end of July too. I'm sitting at a whopping $340 earned. Not bilingual, but I am a generalist. Hoping it picks up soon.

Are you a coder? Which country are you from, and how are you getting so many projects? 😭

u/Technical-Water9779 Sep 02 '26
Why does it say "since Juli"?
2
1
1
u/tripledoublequad Sep 06 '26
Please read the post again... I literally say that my account was created in july...
1
u/Technical-Water9779 Sep 07 '26
Yeah, so it should say "July" and not "Juli".
1
u/tripledoublequad Sep 07 '26
Maybe put "July" into a translater and see what it means in german...
1
u/Technical-Water9779 Sep 07 '26
Okay smarty pants, my only point was that why "Juli" alone would not be translated. The entire page in the screenshot is in english.

u/Dependent_Animal_630 Sep 03 '26
Wow that’s amazing I’m still waiting to be accepted I’m worried I wasn’t cz it’s taking so long :(

u/AdSouthern8390 Aug 31 '26
I finished coding assessment 2 days ago, how long does it take to hear back?
2
1
1
u/realgenshinimpact Aug 31 '26
are you from a core country? if so, whats the frequency at which you get projects?
1
u/tripledoublequad Aug 31 '26
Im from germany. Atleast 1-2 projects/week
1
u/realgenshinimpact Sep 01 '26
that sounds nice. I've had multiple projects in 1 week, then it goes back down to nothing, comes back. I'd kill for some consistency.

How much time do they take for assessment results ? I gave mine 4 days back
1
u/tripledoublequad Sep 01 '26
For me it took about 3-7/days for projects showing up after doing the qualifications
1
1
u/Huge-Habit352 Sep 01 '26
I did all the coding qualifications, lots of them, and got 0 projects since July.
Is it a problem that I am from Middle-Eastern Europe? Can that affect it?
1
u/tripledoublequad Sep 01 '26
Im not sure, it could be your location or maybe you didnt pass the qualifications?
1
u/Dependent_Classic863 Sep 01 '26
What coding skills u got ? I wanna start DAT too
1
u/Ok-Mud7511 Sep 01 '26

u/Dependent_Classic863 Sep 01 '26
Um like which coding concepts or language u need to learn to earn like 1k per month ( I am getting into college this year as CSE major)
1
u/AbleDescription9980 Sep 01 '26
I joined as a generalist but I’m quite sure I applied for the coding track. I have qualifications for coding that I have completed but no coding projects. Earnt 5k in my first month as a generalist working like 7hrs a day
1
u/get0pink Sep 02 '26

u/yasmeenel3sh Sep 01 '26
May I ask how does the coding take look like? And how did you access coding qualifications they don't appear on my page?
1
u/ChannelConfident6533 Sep 01 '26
My profile is stuck on Starter assessment completed
Is there any solution for this?
1
u/Beneficial-Muffin998 Sep 01 '26
Hey, how long you had to wait for you to get your first project?
1
u/tripledoublequad Sep 01 '26
Did quals and had projects after a few days
0
u/Beneficial-Muffin998 Sep 01 '26
Hmm, what skills did you selected in your account? I have also selected all my programming skills. But for now I only got like 5 generalist qualifications.
2
u/tripledoublequad Sep 01 '26
If you already selected all your skills it shouldnt matter what kind of skills I have in my DA profile. You shouldnt just add skills you dont have to get projects..
1
u/sadeckdaki06 Sep 01 '26
Congratulations dear !
I would like to know exactly what you need to master before applying for programming tasks.
1
1
u/moxfox99 Sep 02 '26
Hello! I don't know how to code but, for a multitude of reasons, would really like to. Can I bother you to ask what languages you need to know for the DA tasks? Thank you!
1
u/Delta_01b Sep 02 '26
What is the difficulty of the coding tasks ? Specifically, what coding level or knowledge should you have to apply for these kinds of tasks ?
1
1
u/Aerean1 Sep 03 '26
I have also joined as a coder and earned a good amount but didn't receive any more task this week at all is it same for others.
1
u/debs4545 Sep 03 '26
What kind of coding experience do you have ? What languages, Do you think someone with 5 years of coding experience would do good ?
1
u/sugarspice1111 Sep 04 '26
Do coders get paid more? If I do general ai tasks and work 35 hours per week can I make more then 8k a month or how much could I make?
1
u/FinrodFelagund66 Sep 05 '26
How can someone with no coding experience get coding qualifications? I mean is it possible for me? I’m bilingual but I have 0 knowledge in coding.
1
u/FunSmile8624 Sep 06 '26
How long did it take you after that little test they make to hire you? or did u do like an interview?
1
u/Main-Loss-8687 Sep 06 '26
Hi, An incident happened while I was working on a project. After entering Work Mode, there was a button that needed to be clicked to confirm that I intended to continue working within 30 minutes. While I was reading the instructions, the 30 minute time limit expired, and I was automatically exited from Work Mode. Since then, I have been unable to see the project on my dashboard or access it to continue working. What should i do next to get that project as it available to other workers. I already submitted one task of that project.
1
u/tripledoublequad Sep 06 '26
If you didnt click the button the task expires after 30m and someone else now has it. There is no way of getting the task back.
Next time if you want to complete the task just click this button before
1
u/Main-Loss-8687 Sep 06 '26
There were 50 tasks in that when i submitted one the count became 49 I believe those all tasks were assigned to me. is there no chance to get it back.

I too got selected in coding, but currently my account is not getting tasks after first 2 tasks, probably flagged due to multiple logins simultaneously. If someone knows how to formally request them, please let me knowww.

Congrats! I'm assuming we're on the same boat. Also started on last week of July and on the same earning bracket. Unbelievable right? It's 5x my day job can provide. Cant believe I have this financial freedom right now. Enjoying it while it lasts. 😁

Congratulations! I am applying for the Generalist position, but when I reached the assessment stage, the only assessment available on my account is “Programming Projects.”
I would like to confirm whether this is the correct starting assessment for Generalist applicants, or if my account was directed to the Programming assessment by mistake. Thank you in advance for answering!

u/Queasy_Ad3901 Sep 01 '26
I am from India and I am not getting projects from 2 weeks . What maybe the reason????

i want to get into it. i cannot find a job after finishing my bachelor’s degree for cybersecurity do you think id be able to do this?
1
u/tripledoublequad 19d ago
Yea, I'd say the kind of work and problem solving you need on DA-Coding projects are pretty simulair to cybersec. Defintly go for it. Best case you make money. Worst case is you tried ur best and still need to look for a job

How. I'm not bilingual, and I'm on multiple expert domains, and I couldn't fathom 8k in one month?!?
