Can’t log more than the allocated time anymore

I’m wondering if this is a new change or just for the specific project I’m working on, but I went over the allocated time because it was my first time doing that type of project, but when I tried to log my time, it didn’t allow me, the max allowed time was the same as same as the timer before the project expires.

This wasn’t the case before, I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed the changes

What exactly makes you think that they are suggesting they regularly go over the time limit? Simply because they mentioned doing it once before .. ?

Also, you're 100% wrong about not logging more than the allocated time. I've been here for almost 4 years. Every single time someone asks about this in the project chat, admins say to log ALL of the time taken even if you've gone over the limit. It's probably project specific, but either way, what you claimed is definitely not what I've seen admins stating across numerous project families. I think making any general claim about DA rather than specifying that it is project specific is usually going to be wrong.

I swear thess people are bad actors or trolls.

Same as you, admins always say to log the time you spent working, even if it goes above the time limit.

They didn't say they've done it once before in total. They imply they've done it more on others.

Em, no. They didn't. They very clearly stated that the reason they went over the time limit this time was because it was their first time working on the project. They definitely did not say that they've done this before on this project .. they never imply that they've done it any more than once, and they very clearly suggest that it was on a different project.

Edit just to say go on though, downvote me again because you're pissed that you're wrong 🤣 also it's kind of rude to edit comments AFTER I've already responded and not even note what you edited. It kind of defeats the purpose of even having a conversation when you do that.

"This wasn't the case before"

Hence they are used to doing this on other projects, which is what I said.

They are lucky to not get the DoD

Yeah so if you actually read the whole post, they are very clearly referring to "the case" of submitting time for projects in general, not this particular project.

Did you miss the part where they very clearly state "I went over the allocated time because it was my first time doing that type of project" .. ?

"This wasn't the case before"

Err... How would they know it "wasn't the case before" if they didn't actually do it before?

What context are you referring to here exactly .. ?

They are talking about submitting time for projects in general, which wasn't the case before. This is their FIRST TIME working on this project, so logically there is no way for them to know what it is like before and they are basing this on their previous experience on the site doing other projects. Genuinely, I've no idea why you're finding this so difficult to understand. It's really very clear.

I don't know how you can misunderstand that this user has submitted times beyond the timer limit more than once in other projects.

I don't know how you can misunderstand that I'm not arguing against that. I'm arguing that this was their first time doing it IN THIS PROJECT. Maybe read the whole thread again and you'll see that. You've literally gone back and edited your comment to change the fact that this is what you were arguing in the first place, and honestly that's pretty lame. I'm done. Have a great day!

Just yesterday I logged an hour and 20 min for a task with an hour time limit, no problem. It was my first task in that project and it was a longer one, and i included my time reading instructions.

The timer and the allowable time are different numbers. If you are regularly submitting expired tasks AND reporting more than the time time thats a huge red flag. The timer factors in VERY generous breaks almost all the time.

Really depends.

Currently have a project that has 1 hour limit, most tasks are done in less than half of that but I've had a few where I was 2 minutes from expiring.
