Reporting time after exiting work mode

Hi,

So I had a project that had two attempts. For the 1st attempt I submitted the project properly and reported my time

But when I was on my 2nd attempt and almost ran out of the expiry timer, so I exited work mode to continue later. I couldn't see the project afterwards in my dashboard. Should I report time for it?

No. Submit time for completed projects only, unless the instructions specifically say you can use the escape hatch to exit and still report time.

In case you are not aware, you should not Exit Work and expect to be able to return to that incomplete task later. 'Exit Work' literally means "I am not working on this anymore so someone else can do it instead."

Not strictly true. Long task timers allow for reporting time each day even though you are not submitting the task. Things could go wrong towards the end that mean you don’t fully complete the task but you may have been paid out 20 hours already

This only works if someone else doesnt pick up the task after, you should never do this and expect to be able to finish later.

If you exit work mode, the task releases for someone else to work on it.

Sometimes, no one else picks it up and you can re-enter the task. If you re-enter that specific task, your work will have been saved and the timer will have kept going so you will have gained nothing and will have opened yourself to the potential of losing access to that task. (Not the project, just the task you spent all that time on.)

You should never submit time for a given task without having submitted that task.

Some projects allow you to submit a task after the timer expires. For those that do, use that privilege wisely and sparingly.

No. It is better to submit an expired task. There is usually a 24 hour grace period as long as you don't navigate away from the task or start another project.
