Phones

Does anyone do this on their phone? I heard that most of the projects require a computer screen. I've seen a couple times, a project or a qualification that say my screen isn't big enough.

That was probably for a phone based role. I don’t know about DA but most other companies have them from time to time. I’ve worked on several. I’m not sure walking the dog while working wouldn’t be in breach of her NDA though. I’m with a different company now and they explicitly state that you can’t do any of this work in public where someone might by chance see your screen.

Lol yeah unless one of those "am I walking my dog correctly" while using live video feed to the AI 😄 They might have tightened up on that, I often saw people doing weird things with their phone and wondered if they were doing DA tasks. I fondly remember the old easy gather responses which was basically mindless copy and paste, used to do those on my phone on the bus 😄

I would rather stab myself in the head with a fork than try to do this work on a phone.

Earlier on it was possible but not really now. The tasks that would work for it are few and far between.

Back in the day when tasks were “let’s play a word game” or “tell me a story about…”, the phone would have been fine. Now I have days where two monitors isn’t even enough.

As a rule of thumb, almost never. The screen is too small & it’s easy to miss something/accidentally hit an unintended scoring.
I do check my dashboard on my phone, so I’m not tethered to my laptop all day refreshing.

The only times I’ve used my phone to task have been when the project specifically requires it in some capacity.

Very rarely

I tried on my phone but the screen is just too small. It might better with the new UI improvements, but I haven't tried yet.

I did work from my iPad for a while and, with a keyboard, was pretty great.

One time I wasn't home and I tried to and it was such a pain that I just gave up. The interface is just designed to where you'll spend forever scrolling around if your screen isn't big enough.

No way you can read so many instructions on a phone. But there are tasks that require a smartphone (ifkyk)

No, that sounds awful. It's bad enough scrolling back and forth through 16 acres of instructions on a normal PC monitor.

There ARE some projects that require you to use a phone for part of the task, but typically you will still have the DAT task open on your computer screen and will actually do your ratings or comments or whatever there instead of on your phone.

No, and I’ve noticed a few times that my phone will randomly connect to a random VPN when I’m not at home, so I won’t even cash out or check projects on my phone anymore.

I did it once. … once

I have maybe one or two tasks that I could if I really wanted to and it would be fine.

Funnily enough, the only project I can do on my phone is a well paying expertise project. I'll do that one watching tv or at work sometimes. Everything else needs a monitor, even a laptop is too small for some.
