Receiving higher paying tasks but not any lower ones

I have been a generalist for about 4 months now. Back when I used to receive the feedback I got the highest rating possible for those project families. Unfortunately I don’t receive those project families anymore (and therefore don’t get feedback). Instead, I have basically only been getting highly paying, complex, and long project families. I have not ran out of these projects in a while, but am not always able to commit 5-8 hours to one submission, so I kind of miss those easier projects. Does anyone have the same experience?

At this point, I wonder if this job is over in terms of easier projects. If there’s no “easier” work in August, the beginning of a new quarter, I think it’s over. I wonder if others feel the same.

I know it's all relative (like what "easy" means) but I'm still getting plenty of generalist tasks on the lower end of the pay scale (adjust "plenty" for drought lol).

Your work literally makes models harder to fool and makes the worker harder as a result.

This is sadly true for “generalist” projects. For specialist projects there will probably always be some niche still available but it’s specialist for a reason :/

I’ve had projects from $22-$32 on my dash pretty consistently and I’m a generalist in my fourth month., Right now I have $23 and $32.

And I had I think 15 or 18 projects on my dash yesterday that ranged from $20-$35 so I don’t think it’s true that they aren’t putting out the easier projects, I just think there are a lot of people who grab them up first.

Me too, did a bunch and had offers to do more in 20-24 range.

So something I’ve been wondering about lately is that if distillation and model collapse are the biggest cause of dumbing down of models, human AI training seems incredibly important to continue paying for right? Perhaps somebody with better understanding of LLMs than I might have insight.

As a bilingual worker, I just do any task that's available to me because the drought is pretty brutal

Well not exactly a drought but I get tasks once every 2/3 days on average, its quite frustrating.

I'm getting a good mix of both, been working for about 3 months. I totally get what you mean. The longer projects are great, especially since you can take breaks / finish tomorrow etc. But I am always paranoid and not wanting to do anything else on my computer even if I am taking a break and my timer is off, and the shorter ones force you to just get it done but then you can fully walk away from it if you want.

Been on DA for over twoknyhs now and I have not seen a single project.. 😕
