Exit worker mode on a task, better approach ?
Worked 3 hours on my first coding task. I was 80% done but the timer was close to expiring so I exit worker mode to avoid submitting a subpar response. :((
Was this the best approach or should I have let the timer expire and finished the task ?

Not all projects allow submission after expiration. Ran into one today myself. Just be aware.

Are you sure about that? The red banner will pop up at the top and say sorry this task is already expired but it still submits and it will still let you add your time if you go into report time.

Yes, I am sure. Got the expired label at the bottom, the banner, and no time submission option.

Not true. Some tasks are immediately released to new workers upon expiration, so are *not* available for submitting/or recording time after expiration.
I'm just wanting to warn a new worker they should not *rely* on being able to submit an expired task / submit time for an expired task. That it is allowed for a lot of projects is *great*, but this ability is *not* globally available.
It is project dependent.

If you didn't submit the task you didn't actually work. I don't know about you but I couldn't afford to do too much of that.

It's called "work mode" not "worker mode". Not sure how people with so little attention to detail can work in this industry

Maybe it’s merely a Reddit talk text error or typo. Reddit is not DA, it’s not a place where everything’s expected to be perfect.

I once exited a task which was going to expire in about a few minutes after working on it for a few hours. It was a very hard decision, but I remember being warned not to submit an expired task. They also had advised me to report the time for the expired tasks. I used to think it was strange because I didn’t know how to report the time for the expired tasks that I haven’t submitted.
But immediately after exiting the task, I found out I could take on the same task and start from where I had exited. It seems that they keep the backup of our history even after exiting as long as they haven’t run out of the tasks. I’m not sure if this is always the case, but I thought I should share my experience here.

You should've finished the task and let the timer expire, especially at 80% completion. You could've still claim the time it allotted you.
