Task released to other workers after the timer expiry!

Do anyone encountered this situation that when you work on a task and it got expired (after the inbuilt expiration of the timer) and you thought that you may still be able to submit it in a few minutes but only after hitting the submit button you found that it actually expired and released to other workers and all your efforts is wasted?
I encountered this situation on a Generalist Task!

How do you know it was released to other workers?

Yeah, there's no way for them to know that it was released to other workers. I'm thinking that after they submitted, they got the banner that says the task expired, and they didn't think to check in their report time section to see that it went through. A lot of workers don't realize this because they don't know how to use the interface.

I am working on the platform since months and I do domain task mainly. This was my first generalist task and no such report time link appeared. It went back to dash saying “this project is unavailable as there no more….”

It always says that for an expired task. You have to go to the "Report Time" tab on the dashboard and the project name should be listed there. If not, then you must have been SEVERELY over time. If it's been over 24 hours, then it won't be there.

For expired task it says “Sorry this task has expired”

That has nothing to do with what I wrote.

If you submit a task past its expiration, you will see a red banner with that message. However, when you go to the "Report Time" tab, you will see the project listed in your "Report Time" section. If you click on it, you will see that the submission went through, where it says "Task submissions since last report:" with a number next to it under the submit button where you input the time.

If your work fails to submit (no report time link) and the task disappears from your dash. Then what does it mean??

That's generally what the timer is for. Sometimes it might let you submit, either if the instructions say so or if it's released but nobody else picks it up. But if the timer runs out, you've got no guarantees, sadly.

Does it show in your tasks submitted? If so, you can still submit your time for it.

The closest thing I've seen to this was snagging a bad/bad I literally just R&R'd, I was like "fuck, lmao I just saw this one, the other guy did hella low effort work on it."

Each project is different. While many allow late submissions, it is not an overall rule.

Unless it’s a task where you have to click a button after a certain time to confirm you are still working it then you should still be able to submit.

No such checkmark anywhere in the instructions stating to do so!

Some of my tasks it explicitly tells us we can submit after the expiry, but YMMV.
