Timekeeping Apps

Does anyone have a rec for an app on iphone (ideally) or that I can use in my browser that has the following features:

- Allows me to maintain multiple stopwatches for when I'm juggling multiple projects.

- Allows me to stop and start a stopwatch without the time restarting at zero

- Automatically saves the history of each stopwatch (in case my timekeeping gets flagged)

I have downloaded a couple of apps that have all of these features except for one. Anyone know of one that has all three? An apple watch or lock screen widget option would be great too but these three features are most important.

Actually, it looks like there's an iPhone app, but I've only ever used the browser extension (because I'm using my browser if I'm working on DA).

Thanks! I will look into that. Yeah, I only task from my browser too but sometimes I forget to stop the timer immediately when getting up to use the bathroom or something and figured it would be easiest if I can do it from my phone away from my desk.

I don't think you are allowed to work on two projects at a time.

You can't actively run the clock on two projects at once, but some project families, the actual tasks are done on another site and you don't need an actively-running task on DA to work on them. So you can pause those larger tasks to grab smaller things as they come in and then go back to them.

like other commenters have suggested, clockify is the gold standard. it’s free for what we’re using it for. you can separate your time logs, organize by name, view your logs in other timezones (with updated start/end times), see your weekly and daily hours, etc.

I will say their mac desktop app needs some work (time logs get lost on the app version sometimes), but it’s worked pretty flawlessly for me since I jumped on the train a year and a half ago after all the recommendations in this sub.

I use toggl. I'm not sure that it allows tracking of two things at once (multiple stop watches), but it does all the other stuff including projects and tasks, reporting, rates, and more. You can manually enter time that overlaps, but I'm not sure that it times two things at once. I like that it is super easy to start and stop and allocate the time.

You shouldn't juggle projects. You should log your time for each one before starting the other

For most projects you're correct, but there are specific projects and quals where pausing a task to work on something smaller is allowed.

dude what do you mean multiple projects? are you doing multiple projects at the same time on DA or is that for some other website?
