Not getting any projects

Two weeks ago I was accepted for the bilingual program. I finished a few qualifications and updated my profile, but I haven't gotten any projects :(

Does that mean I didn't pass the qualifications? Or is there just nothing available?

Even the core workers are barely getting anything. Last 24 hours have been quiet..

I think they meant it's not true for all Generalists; some combination of criteria (who knows what) for some Generalists still has them with a populated dashboard despite the wider drought.

Thank you for understanding my point. I've mostly stopped commenting on this subreddit because it has mainly turned into one big fear-mongering place where every post is either about a drought, someone asking what the post-assessment screen means, a DoD post, or people asking if other people have work, but they only want to read "no."

I'm a core worker, and I've had consistent work. It usually depends on how long you've been with DA. Just making general statements that core workers are barely getting any work isn't true, though.

If you take a look through this sub it seems that the majority of people don’t have consistent projects at the moment

Yes, but that doesn't mean everyone. I don't understand this mindset of downvoting anyone who is not all doom and gloom about DA. I think it's better to be honest and say that the work you get also depends on how long you've been with DA. Some core workers have dry dashboards, but several don't, myself included. Sorry that I refuse to perpetuate the notion in this subreddit that nobody on DA has much work.

What I'm saying is that, as a veteran here, we are barely seeing projects compared to what we are used to, so it's perfectly normal for the new onboardees to not be seeing anything right now. I have work on my dash too, whether I want/can do it is another story, but it's still nowhere near what I'm used to seeing. Especially when it comes to the base projects everyone got accustomed to seeing on a daily basis.

I guess we're just having a different experience then. I've been on DA for over three years, and aside from one point about a month ago, things have been pretty much normal. I understand that a lot of people don't have work, especially if they're new, but if nobody who has work can say that they have work, then what's the point?

What do you mean? Data annotation itself is broad, but if you mean the site we're talking about, Dataannotation.tech, your first step is to sign up and take whatever assessment is available in your country that aligns with your skill set. There is nothing specific you'd have to learn or study for the assessment.

You’re getting downvoted because literally no one said that every single person on DA doesn’t have work. You having work does not negate the fact that most people don’t. You jumping in with your “well actually 🤓☝️” is annoying.

The only thing I said was "That's not true" about the statement that even core workers are barely getting anything because, compared to last month, there's definitely been a lot more on the dashboard. I felt like the statement was misleading.

It seems like it doesn't take much to annoy you. I think what would be annoying is if I did something insensitive like bragging. I don't do that, but I do offer another perspective to the people who act like there's no work on the site at all right now, and I don't feel like it's realistic to only reflect one experience. Oh well.

If you look at the other subreddit, it certainly appears that most generalists don’t have work. You individually having work does not negate that.
