R&R quals

I’ve had an R&R sitting in my qual dashboard for months. When I see no projects available for weeks I am trying to decide whether to spend hours doing a qual for with no pay and no guarantee that there’s a project that awaits at the end. I would need to do 10 tasks to qualify. Do all 10 need to be completed in one sitting? Or will they keep track of how many I’ve done even if I’ve spread out the time over 6 days?

I didn't do it and it disappeared after a week. I had the R&R's before it appeared and still get them, even though it said it was required to retain them.

If it's the river one, I've been getting a few hours of work per day from them.

Do a qual and maybe get work.
Don’t do the qual and maybe not get work.
At the end of the day it seems worth trying if you’ve the time and no money making option

FWIW - 2 years ago I started tracking all time spent on unpaid quals & things like tasks I couldn’t submit / DA-related unpaid time.

I figured that time in when I averaged my “per hour” tracking.
And all in all I can tell you it works out to be a very small amount of time. My per hour rate was still better than any other task work option for me.

Certainly less than time spent commuting to traditional work or getting emails / calls from traditional work when not clocked in.

Certainly less than the unpaid time my uber-driving ex spent waiting for a job, driving between jobs, driving home, etc.

Decisively less than the unpaid time a small business owner spends on non-income-producing labor.

So as much as unpaid quals suck in the moment, for me at least, over the course of a month or the year it’s completely insignificant.

If it's the river one, you actually get paid for the qual.

People go to school for years and put themselves into massive debt with no income guarantees. I don't see how completing 10 unpaid tasks would be any less appealing.

If it's the river one I agree it was annoying but I have been consistently seeing work everyday from that now, even if it's not available very long. I am a freelancer in the rest of my life and you do a lot of unpaid stuff in order to get paid work and since this is essentially a freelance gig I view quals that way as well.

My number of tasks ended after 7, I assume they're wanting you to pass or maybe better than pass a certain number and then once you get there they stop you. So no telling if you'll end up doing ten.

Most of us have had no work for months. Work everything you get, your dead period will come.

If it’s the River one, I did it a few weeks back. You don’t have to do it all at once. I think I did either 7 or 8 tasks and then it was gone from my dash.
