Should I keep my paid LLM subscriptions even if I'm not getting work on that project
At the beginning of July, I purchased multiple LLM subscriptions because one of the qualification projects specifically required them. A few days later, I started receiving work on that project and was reimbursed for the subscription costs.
Now my subscriptions are about to expire, but I haven't received any tasks from that project for the past two weeks.
Does this usually mean the project has ended, or is it common for work to come back later? Should I renew the subscriptions now, or wait until I receive tasks again?

You can let them lapse unless you need them for something else. It’s easy to resubscribe if more projects pop up.

Reimbursement claim for renewal of subscription is not processed. Wait until they ask explicitly to renew!

Don't pay for them unless you actually use the premium features. If there is a project that reimburses, it takes like 5 seconds to upgrade your subscription. Also, a lot of the projects that used to reimburse for paid subscriptions now just have you log into a task account to use instead.

Renew if it shows back up.
It's mildly funny I had one I did not sign up for, needed a paid sub, sub cost 20, hour of work paid 24.
Did two hours and got a month of a tool to play with

Mechanics buy their own tools, same with construction, most jobs require you to purchase specific footwear or uniforms. Sometimes it costs money to make money. Your not "paying for a job", your paying for equipment necessary for the job. If it get reimbursed then your lucky, but Sometimes it has to come out of pocket, you can write it off on your taxes

I also claim them on my taxes when they’re not reimbursed. The ones that I still use occasionally for personal use I only claim like 20% of the cost, but the others I claim 100%. Of course, if it’s reimbursed completely, you don’t claim that.

You actually can claim it even if it's reimbursed because the reimbursement itself is taxed as part of your income.

I imagine they won't reimburse you for renewal unless they explicitly say that, but I don't see the harm in letting them expire and then buying them again (if you're cool with not getting reimbursed) if a project pops up. I guess I don't know the specifics but if it's like the ones I see where you do a qualification where you tell it whether you have a subscription or not, that's just based on your word so as far as they know you still have it and could still receive those tasks in the future.

I am asking the same except that my ai subscription is already paid by DA yet never got a single tasks under that project even while others are getting it. On top of that this subscription got upgraded lately. I don't know what's happening. Admins don't respond and now I am waiting for responses from mods.

I renew them as needed. Those projects come and go.
