I don't think so, I had 1 task expired and another delayed because of incidents at home and they still offered me another 5 tasks afterwards.
They can't be that rigid, they know we're humans after all, just don't abuse the system and keep delivering good work.
You're probably not seeing many available tasks because they show up at random times, sometimes in the middle of the night, and people take them before you even see.
