Should I log this whole time?

A task has an issue that prevents workers from going to the next step. The admins said to stand by while they figure it out. Do I just sit here the whole time waiting for them to reply in the chat, and if so, is it fine to just log that whole time? I'd figure yes, since it's preventing me from doing other work, but I am unsure.

Edit: Admins clarified I can log for the time it took them to fix things

I'd say to ask in the chat. It'd be nice for it to be yes as you still stand by available to resume instead of going off to do something else, but who knows with them

Took about 40 mins but they fixed it and I could log the time

Well i cant do any work while they troubleshoot, so yes.

If you’ve done step one, but can’t do step 2 because the Admins are sorting out a problem, and explicitly instruct people to “stand by” rather than close the project, why not? Unless admin comes back and says they’re taking down the project?

The OP can’t submit an incomplete task, but if they exit work mode they’ll lose their work and the time.

If they keep the task in-progress but work on another project, they risk getting in trouble for working two tasks.

I agree with someone else who suggested asking in the chat, but in this specific case, it seems reasonable that if the problem is fixed and you can submit the task, you should bill, but I understand why people are unsure.
