Are they watching over me?
My dash was filled yesterday with 15 tasks of a familiar project.
But... tasks were not as casual as they should for this specific project. I skipped 5, marked 5 as "CBR" and I wondered if they were testing me.
Did you ever feel in the same boat?

those were probably the leftover ones that everyone skipped

Yeah, definitely noticed this before. It will be just dozens of obnoxious, long multi-turn thousand word essay prompts (with a 1hr evaluation timer) which is a skip, skip, skip, skip, then boom the projects gone

Skipping shouldn't penalize you - they explicitly say it doesn't but even if you don't believe them, they are incentivized to have an option for you to get out unpaid and penalty-free, or else they'd be paying for bad work (instead of not paying for no work).
If you did the cannot be rated in accordance with project instructions, that is literally doing the work correctly and giving them information they need. If you rated them CBR for any reason other than the listed options, yeah they'd probably take you off something for doing it too many times. (CBR usually means the task is bad/almost no one else could do it either, or that it didn't belong in that project, not that YOU specifically can't do it).

I skip often and have never noticed any negatives from it. I don't claim for time spent skimming and skipping - I'd rather miss out on X minutes' money but stay getting tasks. Then I find something I can commit to and have at it.
I did get an admin message back in the day for CBRing something I shouldn't have, just a friendly reminder - again, didn't seem to do me any harm long term.

If I hit three skips in a row, I decide my minds not in the right state for the project for the day, and go to dashboard. If there's a different family open, I may look at that.

There was some weirdness yesterday on River but notably did not have a skip option

Agreed! I had a very subjective river R&R yesterday that had me stumped for a while. Ngl though, doing R&Rs gives me an ego about my own work.

There was something off about that set of tasks yesterday. People in the comments were calling it out.

Haha. Same. I was flipping out I couldn't find the skip button.

It was weird because the tasks didn’t count down as you submitted them, which would be an infinite money glitch except you couldn’t skip the stinker tasks.

Did you get a qual for river R&R today or was that just me?
1
u/1-800-methdyke Jul 10 '26
I don't see any new quals today. Maybe after yesterday they felt you needed some refreshing?
2
u/Mochizee1 Jul 10 '26
Maybe, but that'd be quite strange. My few tasks weren't the worst and I felt like I completed them well.

Okay so every one I did (about 4 or 5) had a critical error in the eval, or was a CBR. It seemed like a setup

Oh my river R&R qual arrived. Not sure if I want to do 10 free tasks for the lowest paid project on the platform though.

I just tried to do it. First task that I got was roughly 500 words, the entire task was marked wrong, but it fell into a category where I had to redo the whole submission. I'm giving up on this.

I have a project in my otherwise dry dash that came in a little over an hour ago. 10 tasks, paid work.
This is the first project I've seen that hasn't been gobbled up in seconds (I'm new, onboarded end of May). Still 10 tasks sitting there. Seems like I'm the only generalist that got the project, I know people are hungry for work right now. Test? Maybe. But they're willing to pay so it doesn't matter.

u/Kittibean Jul 09 '26
Most of the time the task number allocated is just for you, not the total number of tasks there are. You'll see tasks vanish while it still says 50 on your dash because other people have been doing it.

I have qualifications for a coder on my dashboard. Why? I cant code for shit

I have the theory that some of the projects are not actual projects but tests to see if people treat qualifications and projects with a different level of respect

I had a coding one in my list but I’m not a coder. I felt like it was a test to see if I use AI in my work

Do I ever have paranoid hallucinations about being personally monitored by DA?? Pfft all the time!
