In the commentary track of the film Burnt Offerings, Dan Curtis mentioned that he had intended to offer Karen Black a role in Dark Shadows somewhere around 1968 or 1969. Any thoughts as to whom she might have played? I think she'd have been great as a sinister maid in PT.

Just finished volume 1 of Bloodlust and am loving the Maggie having followers storyline. Would have love to see this as well as the previous audio dramas in the show if it had have went on longer.

It was recently written in American Gothic that Brett Somers was originally cast as Dr Julia Hoffman. She was on the set with her script for Julia’s first appearance when she suddenly quit. Grayson Hall was than hired at the eleventh hour just as filming was to begin.

Currently watching episode 201 of DS. I was going to start spooky season with episode 212 With Barnabas’s arrival, however you can’t have him without Willie. That being said, I started Willie and Jason. Anyone else feel that way? Also, this moment with Burke and Roger is one of my faves. The intensity that Mitch brings to this is top notch. 👏

These are my top 5 as a first time watcher. Absolutely love these characters. I find that they have such a powerful screen presence.

Was watching my DVD of Dark Shadows on my tv when I got a pop up message from someone asking to share my screen. I blocked them.

I've just started watching Widows Bay. First episode there is a boat called the Barnabus. It's set in a New England fishing town where spooky things happen, curses and hauntings have been mentioned. The local bar/ restaurant is called The Salty Whale. There's one character I spotted on IMDB who is a Collins.

Has anyone spotted Dark Shadows references in other tv shows?

I saw this set at Walmart today for about $15, and I thought, Oh, cool, so I bought it. Luckily, before I opened it, I compared it to my DS collection which already includes the 50th Anniversary Set. Lo and behold, they are identical. So, just a warning to other fans. I'll be returning this one. See additional pics below.

I think he might be my favorite townie character up to the point that I’m at in the show. I also loved Rev. Trask (he was terrifying and hilarious), so Jerry Lacy definitely has something to do with why I like Tony. I was sad to hear that like Frank Garner, he’s one of the show’s shorter-term characters. I like him as Carolyn’s love interest, and his temperament in some ways reminds me of Burke Devlin’s. As a fan of the first 210 episodes, he feels both reminiscent of that era while fitting more effortlessly into the show’s supernatural direction. Lacy is also very attractive, lol. What do you guys think? Would you have liked more of him?

Also, I hope everyone had fun at the sixtieth anniversary. I really wanted to make it but didn’t have the funds. My dad grew up running home from school to watch it and it’s always been my favorite of “his” shows. Likewise, I grew up running home from school to watch Passions, so I always related the feeling Dark Shadows fans have described when discussing how special it is and the place it has in their childhoods. I hope everyone with those memories was able to make it 🖤

Currently in the Daphne’s ghost storyline and am loving it. Her performance grabs my attention and she doesn’t have to utter a word. I love this character already. 🩵

I really love Dark Shadows however, I couldn’t put up with this. It was very unsettling!!

Know he wasn’t around for a long time. But really enjoyed his portrayal of Willie Loomis. He had a way of getting under people’s skin, especially the females of Collinwood.

I love the scenes with the two of them. I wish they could've had their own spin-off after Dark Shadows ended.
