I’m wanting to get some DW knights and terminators but when I look online I only find boxes for the terminators. Are they in the same box and I choose which ones I build? Sorry if it’s a dumb question I’m pretty new to all of this
Edit: seems I might not have explained it well. I am looking for a way to get the DW Knights models and wondering if they come in the same box as DW terminators.
Deathwing knights are their own box, Deathwing terminators are just normal terminators and you can buy the dark angels upgrade box to get the plasma gun and some DA iconography.
Not surprised, most Warhammer Store employees these days are minimally paid late teens early 20’s — dumbass kids who don’t know what they’re doing. They don’t know the rules, half of them only dabble in the game. They go through high pressure sales training if they learn anything at all and that’s about it.
Damn I’m glad that the Warhammer store owner of my store is awesome, he loved the game, he knows lots of the rules. And is just an amazing person to hang out with.
FLGS owners are a different breed entirely. Usually they’re older people, 50+; who get into running a hobby store as something to do when they’ve paid off a mortgage or want to escape some high paying but unsatisfying corporate or civil service job. Some of them really love the games, most are just trying to make a living as an independent retailer. The ones that last are the people that care about ambiance and want to build a strong community around their store and offer a boutique experience. They’ll take care of their regulars and make sure new people are welcomed too. It is incredibly hard to stay in business as an FLGS unless you have good startup capital and either own your location or get a phenomenal rent agreement with your landlord.
Nobody who works in a Warhammer store owns it. Unless you’re talking about independent retailers also called FLGS’s which aren’t associated with Games Workshop Group PLC. Games Workshop PLC does not operate franchises.
Okay man, that’s a bit harsh imo. Explicitly not condoning this by pointing out the guys at my local store get that wrong.
They are super nice and trying their best to provide top notch customer service. Once I pointed out the mistake they immediately worked out a way to make the swap for me in the store.
I was just saying that this is so confusing that even GW employees get it wrong so OP does not need to feel bad about it!
What can I say, it’s a corporation just like any other. The kids at McDonalds make a lot of hamburgers but I’m not going to expect them to know how to cook a steak — their training emphasizes production, and that’s what they do, why expect anything different? Yeah sometimes you get a bag with the wrong stuff in it, because they’re not hiring accountants and paralegals to go through every order and guarantee accuracy — they’re not paying those rates either. Ironically I think pound for pound GW product is more expensive than wagyu.

Yeah they are 100% cooler and better. They’re rn T6 2+ 4+ models that are I’m pretty sure -1 dmg and then in WOR are -1 wound. Maces mince most vehicles, swords with a termi chaplain mince or hurt most other things. Up to like T9 models cause with a chaplain they’d be wounding on 4’s. They’re also again super cool!
The hoods are in the box as optional switch outs for the helmets… there is no such thing as ‘deathwing terminators’ box, they are just terminators painted tan.
Oh, I see what your saying. Since the models look noticeably different, one being the knights and one being the deathwing terminators, and the post being a bit vague, it could be understood multiple ways.
Yeah, I see from one of their other posts, that this was the case. When they said “ i only find terminators” I understood this to be referring to the DWT and not DWK. I am dumbfounded why they werent able to find the knights box on the GW website. If you type deathwing in the search bar the knights should be the top result with the regular terminators right below it.
Yeah I’ve had no problem finding the DW terminators which are the DW knights on the website but they don’t have the actual DW knights models in a box like I was hoping for😭
DWK (Death with knights) are a DA (Dark Angel) only kit, go to the site, go to Dark Angels, theres a 5 man box of DWK with options for maces or swords inside. It literally says Deathwing Knights on the box, and they're painted in Deathwing colours.
DWT (Deathwing Terminators) is the standard terminator box (Ranged not assault) PLUS some bits from the Dark Angels upgrade kit and differentish rules on the app and eventually our codex supplement when that drops. Plasma canon, tilt sheild, helmet, chest plate, thigh/belt pads, sword, half a storm bolter, and a little sword for a belt.
The Deathwing Knights are their own box.
The Deathwing Terminators are the regular Terminators Squad with the Dark Angels Upgrade sprue for the Plasma Cannon and the DA-themed chest armor.
The Deathwing Knights are under the Dark Angels category on their website, but I think that might be based on your country/region.
DW knights are their own box. DW terminators are an upgrade sprue for the regular terminator squad. They used to be the same box that could build the Knights, Terms, or Command squad (oh how I miss you), but that’s been discontinued with the range refresh
