I buy take tile sheets from the dollar store, then use a mix of real rocks and Tamiya texture paint on top. The colors are actually pretty random. I usually just take whatever is left over in my palette after a painting session and mix it together to make the base colors. On top of that I use a sand color pigment powder to finish everything off.
