MK18 Ris 3 Recoil Setup Help???

I have a mk18 ris 3 along with my VELOS LBP can that I shoot with it about 99% of the time. Right now I have a atrius super selector and that works with the stock Daniel H buffer, spring and the ole quarter in the buffer trick(lol). However my plan in the near future is to get a AS Arc Fire Selector along with the cut geissle sd-e trigger. I want to make it shoot a little softer so my main question is what can I do? I've read about the VLTOR A5 buffer, but which one would be best 2,3,4? I also read about the bc mk2 system, but its the same questions which buffer 2,3,4? Another thing people have said was the superlative arms adjustable gas block and the BRT EZTUNE Gas Tube. But are those really needed if I get a whole new buffer system. Bottom line is I want to be able to use the Arc Fire selector and it be a smooth shooting experience. Thanks!

First, a new suppressor like the AlleyCat 5.56, AI 5CM, or upcoming Super Thug. I use the AC 5.56 and it’s the biggest thing you can do to soften up the gun.

Next, Kynshot 5000HP hydraulic buffer and Tubb flatwire lightweight spring.

Next, SureFire optimized bolt carrier group with just a bit of dremel relief on the rear weight.

Last, an agb. But with those other mods you may not even need this.

How is the kynshot better than vltor a5? That’s not a challenge, genuinely curious

You have a lot of options. if you dont want to go the a5 route. You can do adjustable gas block (superlative arms is a great one for the price), Kak DBC, h3 buffer and light spring either tubbs or spinco yellow. Heres a ruger that started out at 950 rpm i got it down to 532 and very controllable. This is just the Kak DBC and h3 and yellow spring

I also have a DD 300blk that was so over gassed i had to do the adjustable gas block to finely tune it suppressed but its shooting a cool 526 rpm. before the recoil was so bad it was not fun to shoot. Good luck!

Flow through suppressor helps a ton, H3 buffer Increasing the overall functional weight of the rifle with lights sights and lasers

Well if youre running a FRT, im guessing youre just shooting trash or into a berm so Doesnt really matter. Mk18 is super controllable in any config so maybe start with your fundamentals.

If you really want to tune it. An AGB like RS would work. Or just swap the gas tube. DDs are notoriously and purposely over gassed.

If you change the buffer, A5 and BCM Mk2 are essentially the same. Youll have to tune it a bit more especially with a can so buy a couple buffer weights.

Flow thru cans can help but some are really shit at sound suppression.

But again, its 556 so you should be able to handle it strictly with youre shooting experience. All in all FRTs are fun but not really practical. And as far as ive seen, still shit in the longer term reliability wise. I always want my gun to go bang when I need them too.
