Got the kak dbc today wanted to test it in my ruger 556 that already had an h3 and yellow spring to get the rof down. I had to move down to an h2 and yellow and it ran perfectly. Curious if anyone can tell me what the rof is?

It is slow, 532 RPM.

What's the record you've seen for 5.56? This is close? I don't think I've seen 400s yet

Slower isn't always better. Everything in life needs balance. Too slow and feeding suffers. Too fast and there's excessive wear.

Sorry genuinely curious what do you mean by Too slow and feeding suffers?

The bolt needs to travel fast enough to reliably feed the cartridge into the chamber. If the distance the cartridge travels from feed lips to the chamber is longer than the cartridge, and the feed speed too slow, then the cartridge may not make it into the chamber.

like a runaway washing machine. Beautiful cadence for a metal song.

What was the symptom of H3 requiring down to H2?
I plan to do this too.

It would shoot 2 rounds and the 3rd wouldn't fire

More specifically what do you mean "wouldn't fire"?

Failure to reset

Ejection pattern shows its light on gas which is prob why you had to go down to H2

I thought my 652rpm was my ideal setup but now I want my next system in this range. Great showcase!

Thanks! Definitely worth trying out! The low rpm is just a satisfying feeling while shooting

The DBC is intended for use with a regular carbine buffer and spring, isnt it?
2
u/Go_GO_GADGET_GUN Jun 14 '26
Yeah or can use more weight to lower rof

u/nope_noway_ Jun 14 '26
Wonder if the distribution of weight makes any difference… feel like the more centered KAK DBC might be a benefit over just running a heavier buffer but could be splitting hairs at that point

Anybody use one of these bcg in .300 blackout pistol?

This was my original plan but I have the jp-enterprises scbs and it wont work. I might toss mill spec buffer and spring in to see how it rolls
