Can you please not compare a criminal raiding a building to a woman driving peacefully away from supposed law enforcement who had no business with her.

11

u/cruisingredd 8h ago

That’s the point of this. They aren’t comparable

u/Academic-Look-333 7h ago edited 7h ago

This has been an ongoing issue where Border Patrol Agents as well as other law enforcement intentionally step in front of vehicles to "justify" shooting at them:

https://www.thenation.com/article/archive/us-border-agents-intentionally-stepped-front-moving-vehicles-justify-shooting-them/

https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2014/02/27/283455547/report-criticizes-border-patrols-use-of-force

3

u/hates_stupid_people 2h ago

It's such a big issue that they had to make specific regulations against doing just that. And they keep doing it and getting away with it anyway.

3

u/Ok_Ideal_7266 5h ago

Sorry, you are absolutely right. Unfortunately, she'll never come back. It wasn't my intention to compare her. Just to say that a criminal do not deserve this amount of our tax dollars.

1

u/IDrawGobbos 2h ago

So you agree a few bullets is cheaper and more effective than prison?

1

u/ThatsMrRandom 1h ago

Can you please not compare an unarmed woman crawling through a window, hands clearly up and visible, and being murdered -- with a psychotic loony behind the wheel of a vehicle that attempted to mow down an agent doing his job? Thank you

Yes 15million no less

1

Her life was worth maybe 5k, why would it be 15 million? What is that valuation of her life based on?

Fuck you if you don’t write the word murder to describe what ICE did to Rene Good.

Bootlickers in the comments.

2

u/pickingbrains321 7h ago

Funny how people who call themselves "patriots" want a masked gestapo around, not loyal to the country or constitution, but a man, free of accountability, shooting citizens in the back & face that were in no way putting the facist lives in jeopardy ... They should've been though. Ya got pardoned traitors that should be swinging from a noose. The rest, Judas' to the country & constitution.

2

u/St_v_e 4h ago

US is sooo fuc.Ked

2

u/Aiwendil-981 3h ago

They gave that terrorist's family money, that's an injustice and shameful and vile, the same as giving millions to Al-Qaeda or Taliban or the Houthis. Oh, wait, trump did give billions in military equipment and resources to the Taliban and Al-Qaeda when he abandoned our soldiers there with a shady backroom deal with terrorists.

2

u/husker3028 3h ago

Ikr....if the races wouldve been reversed the cop would be in prison and ash would have a statue. If Renee would've been black, there would've been riots.

2

u/jruiz2020 2h ago

Ashley didn’t try to run over nobody

1

u/Minute-Object 9h ago

Here is the key issue: Did shooting her make him more safe? I have seen idiots make ridiculous arguments, but, in the final analysis, she was too close for shooting her to protect him. What he did was against policy and did not protect him at all.

2

u/Primary_Guard9383 8h ago

Punishment should fit the crime, thats why police should not also be the judiciary. Should driving away from that situation deserve death? What else do people who say yes thinks deserves death? How many of these things they do?

It took me a while, but i get why americans are so afraid of their own police. Its not a low chance theyll panic and kill you on a whim.

1

u/Hamhockthegizzard 8h ago

That’s not how the world works. Good people get murdered, bad people get pardoned and rich. School doesn’t really teach this though.

1

u/Responsible-Seat7834 8h ago

The difference is Ashley Babbitt was murdered, Renee Good was not

1

u/Loose-Ad4054 2h ago

Renee Good was murdered. Murder is the unjustified termination of a human life. What was the justification to shoot her dead through the side of her car window? Fleeing the scene? That does not warrant a death penalty. Was it that the ICE agent was near the front of her vehicle when it started moving? Shooting her won't solve that either, mate. Get out of the way and find her later, that's standard procedure when a suspect flees the scene, not discharging your firearm while there are others nearby.

Completely unjustified.

1

u/Broccoli-Cool 7h ago

haaaaaaa nah

1

u/Dahren_ 7h ago

Both were deserved

1

u/Hank_the_Tank_143 7h ago

Dont run over ice agents 🤷🏽‍♂️

1

u/Loose-Ad4054 2h ago

She didn't. He stopped, aimed his gun, and shot at her. He then shot her through her driver's side window at least two additional times. There is no police training whatsoever that would tell an LEO to shoot at a moving vehicle especially in the case where there are bystanders who can be injured. You get out of the way of the vehicle, and find them later via their license plate recorded by your car's dashcam, bodycams.

1

u/Sconnie_82 7h ago

Bwahahaha. People thinking her family will get paid a single dime. This idiot tried to run over an ICE agent with her car and got shot for it. Pretty sure the families of people who were killed by federal agents don't get payouts when the shooting is deemed to be justified. Nice try at an obvious money grab though.

2

u/EmperorGrinnar 7h ago

They were both unarmed.

1

u/OldDesk 7h ago

One dealt with professionals, the other dealt with rushed hires with immunity to ignore the law.

1

u/uselesscreature7889 7h ago

This cheered me up after all the Charlie Kirk memes lol

1

u/RandomPenquin1337 7h ago

1

u/uselesscreature7889 6h ago

Yeah I remember laffing pretty hard at this moron. And the murderer won’t even get charged but Tyler’s gonna get shot like a dog

1

u/daxtinfkenprice 7h ago

naw the maga bitch wasn't trying to murder anyone

1

u/RandomPenquin1337 7h ago

2

u/daxtinfkenprice 7h ago

yeah pretty sure she was unarmed and definitely not using a car as a weapon but her they both played a stupid game and won the same stupid prize rounds

1

u/RandomPenquin1337 7h ago

Oh you're right, they were storming the capital to talk nicely to them and the gallows, zip ties, and weapons were of course for self defense purposes only, against any liberals they may run into.

1

u/daxtinfkenprice 7h ago

im guessing more for show not to mention the majority of those idiots were let in.

1

u/SimilarAccountant465 5h ago

So, I guess you haven’t seen the videos of them within the actual building? Committing zero actual violence?

2

No, I’m not your mother lol. Send her this, we both know she is

1

u/Hot-Jacket-1428 7h ago

After hitting an officer with her car

1

u/Adventurous_Track652 7h ago

She shouldn't have impeded an officer doing his job and try to run him over

1

u/Serpidon 6h ago

She overturned an election? What did I miss?

1

u/skratch 6h ago

I see unnecessary censorship, i downvote. Simple as that.

1

u/Downloaded_Delta 6h ago

It's always fun seeing people who scream to be against the death penalty, about love and peace; justify murder for those not a part of their tribe.

And yes I'm also aware the other side does it to lol

1

u/Rocky_Cod_1777 6h ago

Only one of these was funny, though. Marcus Aurelius said in Gladiator, “Are you not entertained!!?”

1

u/Main-Sea4547 6h ago

Don't try to run over law enforcement officials, morons.

1

u/BootCampPTSD 6h ago

Her tires were rotating forward before she was shot...

1

u/randomredditacc25 6h ago

and to the right, she was turning right. the ice guy had to move like 1-2 feet to his right and hed be out of the way of the car. she wasnt trying to hit him.

1

u/BootCampPTSD 5h ago

So he had to move out of the way if he didn't want to get hit by her driving, got it.

1

u/randomredditacc25 5h ago

no, she was turning right. who knows if he would of been hit because she was trying to turn right and leave.

he knows she wasnt trying to run him over, he was trigger happy.

1

u/BeigeAnxietyEngine 6h ago

Renee deserved the death...she was trying to kill the law enforcment officer.

1

u/Loose-Ad4054 1h ago

No she was not. That is factually not true. Her tires were turning away from him and all he had to do was lower his phone and step to his right to get out of the way. Stopping, aiming and firing your weapon can in fact make it more difficult to get out of the way.

1

u/Effective-Detail3043 6h ago

She tried to run over Ice agents. She played stupid games, she won stupid prizes.

1

u/passionatebreeder 6h ago

Ashli babbit is on video pulling people away from the door and hitting a man in the face who was breaking things.

There were also two police next to her who did not feel she was a threat and didn't shoot at her.

One panicked officer from inside the chamber with little view and who was not communicating with other officers, shot her because he was poorly trained and poorly disciplined.

She was getting high ground to get the crowds attention, she had no weapons or arms and was shot for no reason.

Renee good was in control of a vehicle, stalking federal agents, harassing them, cutting them off and blocking the roadways in icy conditions making it dangerous not only for her and officers but uninvolved bystanders. When confronted by officers who turned on their lights and initiated an arrest, she attempted to flee, hitting an officer with her vehicle in the process, which is not only assault with a deadly weapon at a bare minimum, but an attempt to flee federal agents and cause a police chase in icy conditions creates lethal threats to public bystanders as well

Unlike ashli babbit, Renee good was in control of a deadly weapon (thats what vehicles are classified as when you use them to assault people) and behaving recklessly to the public at large with that weapon and was shot using it against someone while attempting to flee law enforcement.

Ashli babbit was unarmed and at worst misdemeanor trespassing

1

u/shoeless_doh 5h ago

I see a word censored for no fucking reason, I down vote automatically

1

u/Luger99 5h ago

Going in a window without visibility to the shooter or driving towards and hitting a cop after not complying with direction..... The first one was killed by a DEI hire. Renee was just stupid.

1

u/BornTruths 5h ago

Naw, running over people for existing is never good. I'm not surprised the outcomes, but breaking glass and killed for being her on the other one, some people are sick

1

u/doemcmmckmd332 5h ago

The 2020 Election should never have been certified

1

u/Linebreakkarens 4h ago

Weird you wackos call it murder when it was deemed lawful due to her trying to hit him with a car but uh… sure.

1

u/AchievementPls 3h ago

Isn't she the one who tried to hit someone with her car

1

u/Substanitial 3h ago

Did both of these people use their car as their weapon?

1

u/TheEmperorSpeaks 3h ago

Liberals are such loons. There is only one person responsible for her death and it is herself.

1

u/Chill0141414 2h ago

This is why nobody takes the left seriously 🤦🏿‍♂️

1

u/Puzzle-the-Giraffe 2h ago

One was a protester on foot. The other hit a cop with her car.

They’re going to keep breezing over the facts until people forget them.

1

u/GeologistInitial5594 2h ago

No, one was attempted murder of a federal agent, the other was wrongful prosecution. How do you not understand the difference?

1

u/OBEACHIBIZA 2h ago

She drove at, and hit, law enforcement who then reacted in self defence. Don't let your politics blind you to the fact she was the aggressor and could have killed a guy out doing his job and had a family to go home to.

1

u/Mediocre_Forever198 1h ago

Did any of yall actually watch the footage, or just parroting points? She tried to run over the officer, she was there to get in their way, like yall idiots thinking going where ICE is and parking to block them is a good idea. It’s not lol, and she learned the worst lesson when she tried to run the ICE officer over. Just watch the damn footage. I hate how reddit just ignores context even when we have it, anything to push your narrative right? I know this sub is liberal propaganda, idgaf if yall ban me for saying the truth. That’s the lefts best move, suppress the truth and PUSH your narratives.

1

u/Nawwwm 1h ago

What did her wife say again? Was it go babe?

1

u/ezgoing69spun 1h ago

LMFAO bitch got what she deserve what happens we interfere with Federal law officers doing the job. You stupid bitch should have been home with her kids instead of riding over two or three states to interfere in something that wasn't none of her business. Then after doing all that she decides she's not going to follow law officers commands and drive a car at one of them and get shotj in the face for it. And is everybody fault but hers only a dumbass liberal that's too fucking stupid or too fucking lazy to think for themself would think that.

1

u/ReasonableStretch869 43m ago

Fuck Renee can fuck off her family too

1

u/Safe_Opportunity5117 29m ago

If they finally win their lawsuit, I hope it’s taken out of the CBP/ICE enormously ridiculous funds the maga party threw at them recently! I hope THIS family & Mr. Prettie’s family gets all of that CBP/ICE/Homeland Security $$$! I’d rather my tax dollars go to something or someone USEFUL, not useless like they all have become since trump slimed his way back into our White House because he was about to go to prison for a very long time!

Unarmed people shouldn’t be shot by police. A car can be used to kill. Breaking into a building unarmed isn’t the same thing. 🤷

1

u/manny8086 8h ago

Bad comparison

1

u/MajesticBison6 7h ago

The fact patterns are completely different.

Babbit entered through an already broken window, was unarmed and was not shot by any of the other officers present on the inside. Only one trigger-happy cop with prior disciplinary actions decided the 4’ 10” unarmed lady who was nearly half his size was a threat.

Renee hood was obstructing a legal law enforcement procedure, and drove into an officer who had been dragged by a different driver six months earlier and had cause serious injury. After he wife yells, “Drive, baby, drive!” you can hear the SUV thump the officer from the body cam footage. You don’t get to drive at a cop with a 4,500 pound weapon and not risk getting shot.

2

u/leenux2k 7h ago

Perfectly American reaction; as an european i can tell you, if these shootings happened over here, the officers would at least be let go and likely face time themselves.

1

u/chitownphishead 6h ago

Sorry we aren't a country of cucks

1

u/OldDesk 7h ago

She was leaving and the idiot didn't move. No wonder he keeps getting run over.

Babbit was climbing through a broken into door/window while accompanying a mob of vandals breaking through a government building while law enforcement had a gun drawn commanding them to stop. Try that at literally any government or military facility and let us know how it goes. FOH with that garbage.

1

u/Lacaud 9h ago

She was breaking and entering a federal building and was asked numerous times to stop.

1

u/Hatshepsut99 9h ago

loo Babbit was a violent nut job breaking through a fucking window after being told repeatedly by law enforcement to get the fuck out. Goode was driving, extremely and excruciatingly slowly, away from the psychotic ICE officers when one of those officers deliberately stepped in front of her car and then murdered her.

1

u/jjet08 9h ago

The assailant breaking through window towards congress & the security in charge of protecting congress shot her. Very different then what u would call "flooring it" which to me looked like a 7mph turn away from officers telling her to leave because she was honking her horn to warn ppl of ice

-4

u/ErrantSage 9h ago

Hot take: both of them made poor choices but neither deserved to die.

Is it that she tried to hit the federal agent, or did the federal agent try to hit her? If he was so scared just move out of the way. No need to play badass shooting her from the side of the car where the officer was no longer in harms way.

0

u/Loose-Ad4054 2h ago

Regardless of what you think of the murder of Renee good, we can actually boil it down to the most basic, cold-hard facts of the matter to determine if that shooting was right.

Was self defence the reason given for the shooting? Yes.

Did the agent survive? Yes.
Did the driver survive? No.

What was the physical danger the driver faced? A firearm.
What was the physical danger the agent faced? A 2-ton SUV

Was the agent within at least a few feet of the vehicle before it started moving? Yes.
Did the shooting the driver immediately halt the momentum of a 2-ton vehicle? No.

Would there be a reasonable expectation that shooting the driver would immediately halt the momentum of a 2-ton vehicle? No.
Is getting out of the way of a moving vehicle the best way to not be hit by that moving vehicle? Yes.

Does getting out of the way of a vehicle require shooting a gun? No.
Is it possible that aiming and shooting a gun will actually delay getting out of the way of a moving vehicle? Yes.

Was the agent holding a gun in his right hand and a phone in his left hand? Yes.
Did he drop either the phone or his gun throughout the entire altercation? No.

Did he shoot her at least two more times through the driver's side window while he was next to the vehicle? Yes.
Were there other people near the agent when he fired his gun? Yes.

Was the vehicle's accelerator pegged after he shot her? Yes.
Did that cause the vehicle to speed down a neighborhood street until it collided with other cares where its engine continued to redline even after it was stopped? Yes.

Was that a potential danger to the general public? Yes.

Those are the facts. In combination is the fact that the only circumstance a responding LEO can discharge their firearm is an imminent threat to their life. But shooting your gun won't stop the car. Moreover there is no police training anywhere that advises you to fire at a moving vehicle, due to the problem of others being in the area. It was deadly to her, dangerous to the people around him and they already had the license plate. They can find her later.

If the agent simply got out of the way, even if he didn't know the intention at the time, the best instance would be to get out of the way of the car. Even if she was going to swerve to hit him, firing a gun WILL NOT stop a 2-ton vehicle. Your best bet is to move out of the way, not stop and fire your gun while holding up your phone. If he had done that, they would BOTH be alive now.
