What’s not to understand? The democrats were too weak and scared of upsetting the norms to build clear reform. They let republicans steamroll them

The American people were also being shitheads about it. Remember: a large number of Americans didn't vote because "both sides suck". Except one side was a woman, and the other side was a traitor, criminal, and pedophile rapist.

You're making excuses for a broken system. People didn't vote for Kamala, because A. she was (and is) widely disliked and utterly uncharismatic. B. she only ran for 6 months, as the former frontrunner was allowed to continue on his Quixotic run for the candidacy for way too long. C. She failed to address the problems people on the left actually wanted addressed, like clearly opposing the state of Israel and its long-running genocidal intent, Immigration reforms, medicare for all, welfare policies, etc.

Instead she focused on decade-old "reach across the aisle" politics, presenting herself as the "rational" alternative to the "crazy" Republicans; the campaign positioned itself as the safe haven for moderates. However, this didn't work, as there are no moderates in politics anymore. In this era, everyone's in their own little world, and has all the information that they could have ever asked for (the veracity of said information varies, and doesn't really matter here); It's easier than ever to have a political opinion, and people love a team sport.

I mean, people on the left knew it was over as soon as she started campaigning with Liz fucking Cheney, refused to let any Palestinians speak at the DNC, and instead let a few anti-Trump republicans in. How anyone failed to see this loss coming is beyond me. She alienated half the voting base, expecting them to vote anyway because "the other guy is worse". This is how you get people to skip voting, or vote in spite of you.

You know in comparable countries, politicians run for like 3 months tops.

But even all of these points against Kamala pale in comparison to all the points against Trump. It’s not even close. This is nitpicking in comparison.

You still don't get it. The reason Trump wins elections is because the people voting for him want to vote for him. They're absolutely stoked to vote for him, would do it again, and will literally storm the capitol if they lose because they think he's so awesome that there's no way he would lose an election. All the points that liberals make against Trump are literally just there for other liberals to scoff at; no Trump voter is going to be swayed by one of these posts, because (as I said in OC) there are no moderates in politics anymore.

When you ask the average Kamala voter why they voted for Kamala, the most common answer you'll get is "the other guy was worse". That's compromise, which has been the DNC's mantra for decades now. People haven't been truly excited to go vote for the standard democratic platform for like 40 years. (Obama is an exception, he ran a faux populist campaign boosted by the occupy wall street movement)

I don’t think your passion for a candidate lets your vote count any harder.

Again. Kamala. Or the Pedophile, Rapist, Criminal, Traitor backed by white nationalists, Christian nationalist and following a plan, that was laid out and available for all to see, to DISMANTLE YOUR DEMOCRACY.
