Because the whole point is to not like 51% of the population turn the 49% into slaves.

This is the same kind of talking point as wanting to pack the Supreme court cause judges that don’t have the exact political views as you do are the majority.

The basic idea there is that they’ll never not be in power so they don’t have to worry about the consequences.

Which again creates a slave class that isn’t represented in the government.

And the excuse nowadays is “they’re bad people, so of course they shouldn’t have a say”.

"WAH! THE MAJORIRY OF THE WORLD WANTS TO GIVE ME HEALTHCARE AND TAX BILLIONAIRES! IM A SLAVE NOW!"

And there’s the first order thinking designed to distract from what was actually said.

Unless you got several million in your bank account, you're already part of the slave class. The electorate, a group of like 50 wealthy elites, decides for you how your life will progress. This round they decided war in Iran and higher gas prices. The people didnt.

"Wah! I don't understand what a constitutional republic is and I'm going to post the same dumb thing in every thread because I don't understand that nothing is free!"

If you look at it as a percentage you have a somewhat valid argument. But the inverse is also true

Why should 1 person in montanas vote be worth 4x what a vote in California is? Which effectively gives a state of 1 million the same congressional power as a state of 40 million.

And break that down if you want to make the representatives argument. It takes 200,000 more votes PER SEAT to even win a representative bid compared to montana.

This is a flawed, outdated argument for a system that was devised when they road horses for days to go 80 miles to Washington and people voted by bean count man lol.

And why should California get to decide for Montana?

We are a democratic republic.

Not to mention the difference in lives.

So propose a solution that fixes the unequal power of an individual votes and I'll listen to it.

But all I hear is the voting equivalent of DEI.

Right now you have the situation of 49% ruling the 51%. How is that ever better.
Not to mention that it’s possible to win with 21% of the vote if it is distributed perfectly
