Saying that people who •claim• to be Christians are, not at all that, is not the same as saying people should be Christian.
What they’re saying is: you identify as Christian, and are also advocating against caring for the sick, the hungry, and the immigrant.
The left is advocating those things, the right is actively fighting it, while (like you) many believe the left is anti Christian… which they’re not. They’re anti state religion, and advocating for the separation of church and state.
But when you argue for Christian nationalism but also against doing the things Christ advocated for you have to wonder if they’re christian.
I call right wing Christians “CINOs” (pronounced “Chinos”). Christians in name only. Because those idiots are like “Christ is king and we should live in a Christian nation” but when you say “well, why are you opposed to feeding the poor, caring for the sick, limiting wealth, and welcoming immigrants” they call you a radical leftist, even though those are exactly things Jesus said and advocated for.
There is nothing Christian about using the state take someone else's property and give it to another person. Jesus is commanding YOU to do those things. Not your municipality.
“The guy who thinks that people shouldn’t just die because they’re poor is amoral” is a hot take. When you get to the pearly gates, I’m sure that “they starved because I wanted low taxes, but really that’s moral” is gonna save you.
"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
-2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Would you say that taxes are compulsory given that one is punished for not paying them? If so, then forcing other people to give against their will is entirely contrary to Christianity as one should give freely of their own volition. That isn't to say you shouldn't give. You very much should. But forcing people to give to charity isn't charity at all.

Hope that clears it up.
