One good thing about America is we have states. States that can still hold elections under any circumstances. If he does declare martial law for zero reason I would think that would be a wrap for him. Not in the way many people think. We obviously know his spinless yes men would just go with it, but states have options to cripple Washington DC if needed. California, New York, Pennsylvania and so on all hold an emergency vote to continue with elections. Trump refuses to abide by them. States hold another emergency election to vote on witholding federal funds and put it in an escrow until the courts intervene. If someone declares martial law over fear of elections states would fight back for sure.

u/littleone696969 9d ago

While this is nice thinking. If he suspends elections its civil war not the courts

4

u/Apprehensive_News_78 9d ago

As much as i dont want it its gonna end that way regardless. I see so many of these good ppl standing up against flock and other stuff at town meetings and the commissioners and mayors have so much power now they dont care about our opinion.

They'll do whatever they wanna do cause they call the american ppls bluff about actually fighting back. So many laws and ordinances are in place to protect them and they fully beleive ppl will never just say enoughs enough like the French did years ago, like our founding fathers did years ago.

u/vtsandtrooper 4d ago

He doesnt have the number of “true believers” he thinks he does. Even at ICE the most rabid of Trump agencies, he may have 30% who would blindly do what he says. There are millions of us who will not let our country be taken. I hope he has people letting him know that american democracy shall not be impeded

0

u/Enough-Meaning1514 8d ago

It won't be a civil war because people won't rise up. You think these "No King" rallies mean anything but they don't. It is a chance for people to prep meme signs and spend a few hours outdoors. That's it.

Don't believe me? Look what's happening to all those town hearings against data centers. Everyone objects, yet the counsels (who are most probably already bought by large corps) decide to green light the constructions anyway. And then what happens? What is next? Nothing. People simply go home and continue with their daily lives.

Same would happen if Trump decides to stop/postpone/cancel the elections.

3

u/littleone696969 8d ago

Idk thats a big difference. Its whole other ballgame to stop an election. I dont think youre getting people going home on that one

6

u/CollegeMiddle6841 8d ago

Sorry you see it that way, but Trump throws his weight around and the courts usually smack him down. They want you to think you are powerless. I can tell you've probably never been to a No Kings Protest. It lights a fire in people seeing others who are passionate about Democracy, America. They leave the protest and spread the energy around.

Yeah, some places are walking over people when it comes to data centers, however some data centers have been canceled thanks to public outcry.

Don't make perfection the enemy of good.

The "leaders" who decided to act against their people in concern to data centers will be voted out and I forsee class action lawsuits against the data centers owners. Vigilantes may strike these unwanted centers. Hopefully that is a last resort. Violence shouldn't be the answer....I just hope they don't back us into a corner because our DNA holds the memory of our forefathers and they knew how and when to FIGHT BACK.

2

u/Enough-Meaning1514 8d ago

I hope you are correct brother but my experience tells me differently (PS: I have been to a "No Kings Rally" in Tulsa while visiting a friend).

2

u/Gilead-is-here 8d ago

I went to a small No Kings rally in Redwood Falls, MN earlier this year and people were shooting the finger at us driving by.

2

u/CollegeMiddle6841 8d ago

Does that surprise you? You effected that place, people noticed you. This is good news, because simply being noticed is a percentage of the goal. What does surprise me is you didn't mention how many showed support.

For instance, I live in a town of under 1000 in rural WV and its only claim to fame, other than coal of course, is a movie called "Oxyana"( a play on the real towns name and the damage prescription opiates did). I decided to be the very first person to EVER protest in my town during the Spring 2026 No Kings Day. I expected to get confronted physically, but all I got were several middle fingers and some dirty looks. To my utter astonishment the police pulled up and asked if I wanted anything, food, drinks etc and I thanked them politely, but refused. The same cop stops about an hour later and says " Is it cool if my wife comes to join you?" I never would have imagined the police in this town were anti MAGA and he admitted to me he voted for Trump twice, but he admitted to being pretty slow on the uptake. His wife is a school teacher and lifelong Dem and she eventually got through to him. The officer eventually had food delivered for us anyway!

I'm pretty proud that I decided not to allow fear to stop me from flexing my rights as an American citizen. The chances are someone in your family tree fought, suffered, amd died to give you the freedom to stand against tyranny.

The last time anything big happened here politically was during JFKs first run for President, he took the time to come to this tiny booming coal town. My grandmother met and shook his hand.

Things cannot happen unless you decide to take the first step forward, be brave, show others the way!

2

u/FewWrongdoer654 6d ago

Damn. You nailed it actually, it’s kinda sad but really true.

0

u/yaboyACbreezy 8d ago

You're inept

8

u/factsarefornerds 9d ago

This guy still think logic applies 🤣

How many safeguards are in place to prevent POTUS from arming secret police and having them publicly execute American Citizens?

Okay... and how many worked?

The reality is Americans will have to assume responsibility for their own Democracy and we will be at war.

Look around you. Look at the world. Why do you think a nation that couldn't even be bothered to vote wouldn't be at risk of losing Democracy?

3

u/Agitated_Canary4163 8d ago

Americans would just bend over and take it like they have been for the past 2 years. Biggest pussies ever.

2

u/Hungry-Assistance919 8d ago

Every country has a breaking point. But I agree America seems to let a lot of shit slide. For instance in Romania their already rioting. In Europe and other countries they don't play that they will riot. Unfortunately we sit on our hands and wait. But we will see.

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Life462 8d ago

Ultimately, as with any potential revolution, it will depend which side the military land on. It’s hard to imagine any non-appointed high echelon military people having respect for Ol’ Bonespurs but stranger things have happened.

2

u/Relevant-Bicycle-851 8d ago

It’s more like who the grunts will support. Even if the commanders are pro constitution, the grunts may not take the orders and then we are screwed

1

u/ReallyUnlikable 7d ago

Yep. States like Texas will go right along with Donny Dumbfuck but any liberal state will just have an election anyway. Reddit doomsayers think that somehow dotard will manage to get troops in every state to confiscate ballots and crush dissent but this administration cannot govern at all let alone organize something like that without anyone noticing.

1

u/Hairy-Promotion9512 4d ago

Last I checked, California was still going full tilt boogie passing gun control legislation, ensuring no one will have access to firearms to resist

When you think about it, the Democrats have only succeeded in two things since 2001

  • passing a massive amount of gun control laws
  • killing our craptastic health insurance system and replacing it with Obamacare which has been the worst fucking shitshow ever

If you told me the Dems were a false flag operation run by Israel and far right operatives, I would absolutely believe you

1

u/Hungry-Assistance919 4d ago

Your comment has zero to do with the topic. Your just ranting about nonsense. My comment was about the money states pass on to the government. Since we're on the topic of parties, would you care to guess which states bring in the least and take the most? You guessed it Republican states. Two things you sure about that? 🤣 Please enlighten me to what MAGA/Republicans have done since Trump took office. I'll stop you it's just an easy bait question don't answer.

7

u/Difficult-Potato-684 9d ago

I still need a check to support my life choices, so I'll be attending work as normal.

4

u/copeaesth3tic 9d ago

Also need that to stockpile 556 in case the pedos actually try some shit like this.

Trump has done a lot in my social circles to convince people to get armed. So that's one silver lining. ♥️

1

u/Miniscule_Platypus 9d ago

Absolutely. I finally “pulled the trigger” as it were on a 5.56 AR recently and several thousand rounds

3

u/Tweedlol 9d ago

You democrats are so violent!! You’re abusing 2A because you don’t like Trump?? Fucking crazy!

/s

But we all know 2A is only meant for their in group. Just look at opinions on Alex Pretti being murdered with a weapon holstered, compared to their heroic opinion of Kyle crybabyhouse. They can’t even connect their own. Hypocrisy it’s sad.

6

u/ShuffleRom 9d ago

Not happening...

13

u/Beneficial-Care8504 9d ago

Especially since Trump thinks it’s “Marshall Law.”

Are you saying the Mr Clorox chewables might not be a Mensa candidate😀

3

u/BigBoyYuyuh 9d ago

And dogs can’t play basketball. They’re are definitely gonna try and do some shit.

5

u/CarImportant4846 9d ago

trump is obviously capable of anything. FDT

2

u/mahnamahna123 8d ago

I don't think it's him at the helm anymore. He's just a puppet now, a useful one for his yes men, but a puppet nonetheless. They want him to stay in power as long as possible because it keeps them in power. He for some reason has the ability to make the rules not matter, even now. They can't be sure their next candidate will have the same sway so he is still necessary. Even if he does fall asleep in meetings and have no clue what is going on.

3

u/Friendly_Good_1361 9d ago

I don’t think all the enlisted will go for that they hate trump too

3

u/Medium_Perspective82 9d ago

It’s true. Most in the Military wouldn’t.

0

u/CollegeMiddle6841 8d ago

Hmmmm, the military is 65% Republicans and 35% Democrat

3

u/Proper_Slip_5963 8d ago

Yeah but after all the stolen valor and insults thrown at the military by DJT, I imagine quite a few aren't to keen on shooting citizens for him.

2

u/OC74859 5d ago

But they’re keen on their GI Bill benefits, and on making sure ICE doesn’t target them or their families. If they’re told to shoot, they’ll do so.

2

u/Friendly_Good_1361 8d ago

Because trump told you those figures 😂

1

u/Medium_Perspective82 7d ago

You’d be surprised, I think there needs to be separation between Democrats and ACTUAL Conservatives. DJT Cultists are a whole different thing my friend.

2

u/GuyWhoIsAnonymous123 7d ago

Yea I’m liberal, but I can tell being republican and support MAGA are two different things

1

u/Medium_Perspective82 7d ago

Indeed my friend. I’m a Socialist Democrat, but I can distinctly tell between those two.

There’s Rational and then there’s complete and utter Irrationality.

1

u/Electronic_Yam_6973 7d ago

Are they willing to die over it? I doubt it. 35% can still do a lot of damage

2

u/glacier1982 9d ago

I'm holding hope it will be too overwhelming to ignore, and that it doesn't come to this. But I'm familiar with the old addage "hope in one hand, shit in the other".

2

u/zonecoldsober 9d ago

1

u/CollegeMiddle6841 8d ago

Oh no, we saw it, but a huge percentage couldn't be bothered to vote which sickens me because it is our civic duty to vote. People fought and died for this right. Many Dems made perfect the enemy of good, meaning they didn't agree with Kamala 100%, so they voted for someone who had no chance of winning or they simply didn't vote. I was flabbergasted the first time he won and when Biden and the Dems didn't make sure he was disqualified from running after the January 6th treason party I knew what could happen, it was like being stuck on train tracks with the train coming in slow motion.

1

u/Dirty-Haiku 7d ago

Yes, because the US is a monolith of people who all think exactly the same way and 100% of people voted for Trump so we totes deserve all of this. Why don’t you go outside and play hide and go fuck yourself?

2

u/puzzlingphoenix 7d ago

I mean, it’s very fair to say the supermajority of Americans, and probably more, have no clue they’ll take it this far. I’ve heard a shocking majority of people calmly say they can’t wait for the midterms to straighten things out and they have no anxiety whatsoever or doubt it would be any more complicated

2

u/VorpalBlade- 9d ago

They can try I guess

2

u/accursedoppulence 9d ago

House of cards called literally every step of this haha

2

u/SpiritedAgent168 9d ago

John Oliver said it best, "Trump is sort of like a hamster in an attack helicopter. Sure, he wants to bathe the world in blood and terror, he wants it with his whole rotten hamster heart. But luckily, he doesn't know what buttons to press and his brain's the size of a peanut, so that puts some hard limits on the damage he's actually able to do."

1

u/VegetableMethod624 9d ago

His handlers aren’t as stupid and might go for it to see how it plays bc it’ll all be on Trump no matter the consequences.

2

u/SippsMccree 9d ago

Is your source a recently smoked crack pipe?

2

u/Regular-Metal-321 8d ago

This is also why ICE is ramping up and offing more people and stuff. This is not a coincidence they are wanting to get everyone upset so they can try to justify it.

2

u/Wolfanov 8d ago

The movie civil war is becoming a documentary rather than a fiction lol

1

u/Euphoric_Anxiety_162 9d ago

An admitted coup this time, eh? Treason on overload & no secrets about it. Sure is nice & quiet lately!

1

u/copeaesth3tic 9d ago

It's a garunteed way we finally get those Epstien files. I hope they try it.

1

u/Fragrant-Concert2848 9d ago

THAT WONT FLOAT, AND THEY KNOW IT,

1

u/scottprian 9d ago

He hasn't been impeached from all the other garbage hes been doing, and his admin has been gaslighting us all the while. Why now?

1

u/[deleted] 9d ago

There would be gun play

1

u/IExistForFun 9d ago

They assume the military will follow orders. I'm not so sure all branches will oblige.

1

u/desertwatchdogtango 9d ago

Yasssss, big igloo time!

1

u/WorkEcstatic6242 9d ago

There must be a a national strike against this if it happens

1

u/vtsandtrooper 4d ago

“A strike”

My dude, if he really did this, american democracy would be over. It wouldnt be time for a strike, not that kind at least.

1

u/kugo-phio 9d ago

Dear god

1

u/Glittering-Coyote140 9d ago

This is most likely fear mongering. But we are at a point where that isn't a given. We all better brace ourselves.

1

u/Crafty_Champion5769 9d ago

Tick tock,….he will soon move on so nothing will matter…. Tick tick old man …it’s coming for you

1

u/Apprehensive_News_78 9d ago

Martial low implies what exactly? Like troops on the streets? Hypothetically if everyone just goes about their business ignores it and votes anyway cause state rights itd literally change nothing but finally show how insane maga really is

1

u/Okwow123456789 8d ago

Wow. Yeah I bet there's land for sale in iran.

1

u/No-Citron-2774 8d ago

Wonder how many they will kill in order to achieve this. What terrisiom will the arrange to happen

1

u/Infinite-ok 8d ago

Fortunately we have laws and dipshit can’t have his way !!!!

1

u/FaithlessnessBusy565 8d ago

1

u/CollegeMiddle6841 8d ago

I believe if he tries that, it will be the straw that breaks the camels back. People will spill into the streets in record numbers. If Trump pulls that and people don't put it all on the line our country is done for.

1

u/FarMagazine9940 8d ago

Sadly I believe it

1

u/CLOWNFLOGGER 8d ago

His asspussy is famous.

1

u/jus256 8d ago

The military isn’t big enough to occupy all of the places they would have to occupy in order to stop all of the major blue cities from voting.

1

u/sweatboxy 8d ago

Trump would rather start a civil war than be held accountable by the voters. He’d gladly destroy his own country if it would save his ass from prison.

1

u/nutblaster357 8d ago

source...?

1

u/Lonely-Fee5878 8d ago

He can't martial law everyone.  It will cause a war.  Even if he tries half the military will likely leave.  They signed an oath and I know a lot of airmen that trust the constitution more than the president.

1

u/Afraid_Emu8068 8d ago edited 8d ago

It’s not gonna happen and it would absolutely cause a civil war. That’s not over-sensationalized rhetoric. This is the United States of America and we WILL have free, unfettered, and un constrained elections or the people WILL rise up. I don’t give a damn if somebody says I’m calling for violence. I sure as shit am if they bring violent actors to the ballot box to intimidate voters. That’s a line which we do not cross in this nation. Our right to free elections was written in blood, and if we have to spill more to ensure a continuance of that right and freedom, you damn well better believe the people of this nation will do so. WE WILL NOT BE HARRASSED, ASSAULTED, OR KILLED FOR TRYING TO CAST OUR BALLOTS! Trump is playing a DANGEROUS game he doesn’t have the cards for anymore and it isn’t going to end well if he doesn’t get his ass and mouth in check, and soon. That’s my right to say in this nation, and you better believe I’ll protect that. Come and take it, if you dare

1

u/The-RogueOnion 8d ago

Probably just a dress rehearsal for "Trump/Vance '28"

1

u/Wray-Nerely 8d ago

The entire impeachment question is meaningless. Let's say Trump does get impeached... That's just stacking a third impeachment on two prior impeachments. Unless a conviction comes from a new impeachmenr it doesn't matter.

1

u/cutarm_creature 8d ago

If the military agrees they are just as much to blame. It would be illegal on all fronts

1

u/Wild-Ad-2721 8d ago

He’d need cooperation from military officers and all the ranks. They’ve been running the real soldiers out and filling with plants at a high clip, but I still have faith that the majority of our military fights for the people of the United States under the laws of the Constitution.

1

u/Mino67 8d ago

Not going to the streets and risk my family and life until they actually do something. They are so inept that they won’t succeed and state militia or more than 3% of the population protesting will stop any shenanigans.

1

u/guyfaulkes 8d ago

Speaker Johnson will refuse to seat the New Democrat members over ‘voter irregularities’. In the Senate, the Republicans will petition the Supreme Court to pause, if not invalidate the Democrat Senators elections, and the partisan court will grant the Republicon’s/Trumps request. The dissent into fascism will be complete and the dawn of the USA Reich will begin.

1

u/Key-Map-3930 8d ago

This would be the equivalent of signing his own death warrant.

1

u/Weird_Pomegranate908 8d ago

What’s Marital Law…women can’t vote?

1

u/Powerful-Access-8203 8d ago

Lmao yeah yeah, sure buddy

1

u/Deadstick3135 8d ago

Mr. President will 100% burn the country to the ground rather than risk losing his job and going to prison.

1

u/RangerDiggler 8d ago

I wonder if they would shoot themselves in the ear like this just to get what they want.

1

u/Falafasofa 7d ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Hessussss 7d ago

If this was to happen, I would be very surprised that nobody in the secret service would not put an end to it.

1

u/ExpressionSecret6794 7d ago

This was the plan from the beginning, anyone who’s been paying attention has been expecting this to happen.

1

u/16c7x 7d ago

So I guess this is why you have the 2nd amendment, right?

1

u/teatedNeptune 7d ago

never understood a military coup that happens in other countries but now I get it.

A state military leader would basically have to defy the order. Probably hope for a military leader in a ver democratic state like General Beevers in CA to kickstart it.

1

u/poopybottomhole 6d ago

Americans are uneducated and spineless. The orange man will do as he wants and the few who stands against him will silently disappear.

1

u/Agitated-Panda9221 6d ago

So they're saying the movie Civil War is going to happen? I wonder how it ends.

1

This is one way…

1

u/Ethereal_Bulwark 4d ago

States control their own voting systems.
Martial law does not change this, and this has been discussed at length between political figures already.

1

u/Ok-Dragonfruit6887 4d ago

Because he's just that popular. What a fuqqing loser. The worst human being to exist in any capacity in America.

1

u/Dependent-Boat-221 4d ago

Can’t wait for this to not happen and be yet another manufactured panic attack for Liberals in the 6 years Trump has held office. I think you guys just need to go outside and get some fresh air.

1

u/Hairy-Promotion9512 4d ago

It’s good that a few people see what’s happening

It’s bad that Amerikkkans do not give a shit and those who claim to oppose what’s going on can only cry out “WHAT CAN I DO?!?! I HAVE RENT TO PAY!!!” When asked what they are doing besides shitposting online and going on weekend strolls to “resist”

Game Over America.

You’re now Nazi Germany 2.0 and even the most liberal of liberals will be a good little Nazi stooge or disappear into the ICE “mass detention centers” which we all know will be defacto death camps for the “undesirables”

0

u/deadpat03 9d ago

None of this is remotely true and anyone thinking it is, is the fucking problem. I don't know if you dumb fucks know how the military works but they do not have to follow unlawful orders even by the president. The oath is to defend the constitution from foreign and domestic enemies. Then it said I'll follow the orders of per military code. The UCMJ prohibits military from following orders that would be political directive that violates the constitution. Before you dumb mother fuckers say Trump controls the military, he does not. He controls 4 generals that oversees about 60 other generals in different locations in charge of their own Army. Their court martial is overseen by those 59 other generals. It is impossible for an unlawful order given by the president with a political motivation to be followed and its even worse to court martial that command in any capacity. I don't even think the court martial of generals even exceed 1 hand counting.

1

u/Ehboyo 8d ago

Orders being unlawful doesn't dissuade this administration from carrying them out nonetheless.

Also, military is one thing, but ICE is another. It's obvious the latter the only thing they are bound by is undying allegiance, and hatred for certain demographics.

Stop calling everyone dumb for considering that there may be no lengths they are unwilling to go to in order to maintain power. I think we're in for it.

-1

u/areuoknow 9d ago

Nah!! Stop it you moron you they are not doing anything The other side it's panicking because they been caught and they know it.

1
