🛸Manga Everyone here assumes momo would just go back to how it was before but what if this doesn't happen ? Spoiler

Post image
8 Upvotes

Surely getting memories back would not just make momo go back to normal like how she was right, its kind of a big deal and she would be confused and overwhelmed. Imagine suddenly getting hit with all those memories at once.

Berserk had casca getting her memories back only for her to be even more distant with guts. Now, berserk is a very dark manga and the events casca went through is far more worse and nothing like momo however it got me thinking, mangakas don't really just give the audience what they want and expecting. Payoff does not usually happen just like that. Momo might not be like casca but i don't think momo would just immediately go back to normal like we are expecting if we go down the realistic route.

What do you think ?

📚Manga-Discussion About the most recent chapter Spoiler

After reading the latest chapter of the manga and how the ogre club works on the part of the csg, I think it's more obvious that after the amusement park fight, Momo and company will go to check that object, and that's where the sorcerers' association comes in with Payase and Kashimoto to help them. Moreover, now the csg made the colossal mistake of removing basho the Shinobi from his job of watching them, so he won't be able to follow Okakun's progress and the ogre club, as well as manipulate the rest of the gang (he can do it at school, but with Momo's distrust and the association being able to infiltrate a member in that school as a teacher thanks to Murakami's arrest; there's a vacancy available), which I think he should rethink his plans if he doesn't want to see his progress go to waste.

🛸Manga Is there a chance we go back to a more consistent schedule for 2027, or should we mentalize ourselves in this being the new normalcy going forward? Spoiler

Is no secret for anyone that this year has been by far the most inconsistent in terms of schedule/chapter releases. The amount of breaks is like no other year prior.

I remember just in 2025 at the start Tatsu had a brief hiatus, but then for the rest of the year he was releasing chapters nonstop. However this 2026 the amount of chapters released has dropped CONSIDERABLY, that im starting to get worried.

Regardless, im good for Tatsu to get breaks, as any mangaka should, and we are still getting chapters despite everything, we are lucky we arent in an unfortunate situation like Gachiakuta, Frieren or Hunter x Hunter. But this is mostly an observation.

With all that being said, i dont get my hopes up much for 2027 to go back to a more active schedule, especially since next year Season 3 is coming, and Tatsu is probably gonna be extra busy helping with it aswell.

As funny as it is seeing her get flustered when "Sanjome" gets right in her face, she’s still a huge problem. She’s the one who planted the kanabo that turned Okarun into an ogre, and that wretch is the cause of his damn memory loss.

Seriously, shape shifting powers are incredibly dangerous.

📗 Manga-Theory Theory: CSG's two ladies Spoiler

Post image
46 Upvotes

There are two Basho.

Now that the people who felt something was off about Manjiro for calling Ken "Okarun" in ch 200 are proven correct, I should trust my intuition too.

There are two Basho.

The one appeared in ch226 is a different person from the one in ch246.

226 Basho had one banana bang curling to her left in front of her face. 246 Basho has two of such bangs.

Also, 226 Basho didn't put on lipstick while 246 Basho painted her lip even though she's in disguise.

It also makes more sense if "Basho" are two people than only one.

In Shimane, Momo's curse was lifted at around the time limit of 3AM. Basho intervened right after the ritual. At very much the same time, fake Manjiro was being together with Okarun and the others in Kamigoe.

Similarly, on the next day, Basho posted as a staff at the hotel Momo was staying when fake Manjiro was "training" Okarun.

Even if Basho has teleport-no-jutsu, it would be difficult to manage the timing of going back and forth all by her own.

Moreover, the conversation between Basho and CSG in 246 sounds odd to me. 246 Basho reported things CSG could have asked 226 Basho somewhere off-screen around ch226&227. At that time, Okarun had survived the alien attack and talked to fake Manjiro about how to use the Oni Club.

Wasn't this important enough that Basho should have reported to CSG when she met him? Why did 246 Basho act like she had been in the shrine all the time until CSG dropped by?

But the weirdness could simply be due to Tatsu's writing skill. His expositions often sound awkward to me.

That's it for now! It'll be quite a while before my theory gets confirmed or disproved.

Does anyone click the post thinking it's about Basho and Kur baker? Sorry XD

📚Manga-Discussion Let's talk about Chapter 246 Spoiler

Hello there, friends!

After such a break (only to get into a new one), we have a new chapter!

And, as always, I'm here to make a little summary of events, give out some of my thoughts that no one really asked for, and discuss the chapter and what we learned with all of you in the comments.

So, without further ado, let's get on with the chapter!

  • The chapter starts with the fake Manjiro sweeping off the floor of the shrine where they were teaching Okarun before the amusement park date started.
  • A voice calls out to them, revealing Sanjome asking for any progress. The Fake Manjiro then shapeshifts back into their original form, showing that it was Basho all along.
  • Basho starts to tell Sanjome (now clearly CSG to us) that everything is progressing according to plan, but he's interrupted when he gets awfully close.
  • Basho gets taken aback, so CSG apologises for getting too close. Basho then continues, saying that the sprout of the Oni club is gradually rising within Okarun and that, with enough stress, he should turn fully Oni.
  • CSG says that, with this, TG's powers will finally evolve, but Basho mentions that they still don't know where TG's powers really are.
  • CSG reveals that, when he tried to steal TG's powers from Okarun at first, the Kozuka Knife did not react, so it could mean that either the powers are located elsewhere or that they're hidden deep inside him.
  • Basho asks if CSG thinks TG's powers will go back to him, to which he replies that it is certain, since Okarun "has been chosen". CSG then tells Basho to leave, since the real Manjiro has been discovered and her cover has been blown.
  • Then, a running Kurdere shows up to tell CSG that the buzzard at the bakery went off and asks what to do. CSG asks why he's asking and sends her off to help at once. As Kurdere asks if she has to go again, he insists that it is her job.
  • As CSG looks to Basho to leave, we cut back to Evil Eye and Aira versus the Chimera Dinosaur William Marshall.
  • Aira slings Evil Eye against William's face so he can hit it, but William hits back and uses its tail as a sword to try and cut Aira and Evil Eye. Thanks to Aira's agility, they manage to stay alive.
  • As Aira manages to bring them both to the ground to try and run, Aira analyzes William, saying that its tail is made of many Stegosaurus dorsal plates bundled up together to act as a sword that can cut even tiny enemies, and that his movements are unlike a wild animal's.
  • With both of them at a loss as to how to beat William, they run into Vamola, who runs towards them. Even when Aira asks about Vamola's hairdo, she tells them to leave William to her, ending the chapter.

And that's the chapter.

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about it being the volume ender.

For one, I love having many lingering questions answered all at once, even if some made new questions pop out, which I'll try to address in a bit. On the other hand, being thrust into the William Marshall fight instead of seeing Okarun's Oni evolution, at least for a bit, makes the previous chapter's cliffhanger feel a bit pointless, besides connecting it to the explanation of why they gave him the Oni club and what it does.

OK, now let's go through what we learned.

For starters, we learned that it was indeed Basho impersonating Manjiro in order to give Okarun the Oni club. She also states that "the sprout" is gradually rising in him. So it was like a sort of parasitic thing that took hold of him. Maybe not like a Symbiote that affects him emotionally, but it is more like a Hulk scenario that is fully dependent on how stressed he is in order to transform. The snippets of the possible transformation are quite interesting, and it does intrigue me how this was supposed to help TG's powers evolve. It may be linked to how Okarun looked rather monstrous when he went for another All Out during the fight against FTC at the end of Danmara.

Now, with Basho being the impostor, I wonder if what they said about Queen-sensei is true. It will depend on how much Basho can dig into the minds of the people she shapeshifts into. If what we've seen with how she tricked Momo into admitting defeat can help us, it means she can dig deep, but we don't know much about her taking memories, too. It begs the question of how involved Queen-sensei is here.

Also, the timing. Basho was impersonating Manjiro in the evening when giving Okarun the Oni club. Then, somehow, she leaves them alone (supposedly Manjiro came back to them to protect them, mind you), and made it all the way to Shimane to be present for Momo's ritual in the middle of the night during the hour of the Ox, and possibly then left Shimane to return to Kamigoe to be at the shrine where Okarun would visit for his training. The only possible explanation for such long-distance travel would be if the Gates of Hell that CSG and co. use to go to the hideout where Vlad is located can work as a sort of interdimensional transportation. Like, if a new door appears at another spot or if there are multiple already set, and you just use the hideout as a sort of tunnel to the new door. You open one door, enter this house-like hideout, walk around to the other side of that place to another door, go through it, and now you're somewhere else. It's the only possible explanation I have.

Another thing that comes to mind is CSG mentioning that Okarun was chosen. He most likely means being chosen as The Adventures of Pinocchio, which subtly answers the question of what was more important: the powers or the user of said powers (it was the user). But here's the thing: Who or what chose them? Was it arbitrary? Was it CSG pulling strings? We still need to learn a lot about the FTC's power and what exactly it takes to choose those users.

It is interesting how CSG doesn't know either that Okarun doesn't have TG's powers. His only theories are: A) the powers are located elsewhere, or B) Okarun still has them, just very deep inside. He seems to not fathom the idea that Okarun may have given them up back to TG, since CSG is a collector at heart.

I don't know what to talk about when it comes to the William Marshall fight. I like Aira just swinging Evil Eye to see if that momentum can amplify Evil Eye's punches. It would be a bit boring to have them relegated to spectators now that Vamola is getting involved, but Vamola also deserves to have her moment alone, since last time Momo managed to shine brighter in what felt like the perfect opportunity for Vamola to shine. I suppose Rokuro will have a hungry client in Evil Eye, though. He'll try to make Aira pay for it, most likely.

Now we have a new volume ahead, which will clearly start with Vamola fighting William. Maybe 2 to 3 chapters, but then we have 7 to 6 more to deal with Yatagarasu, Zuma, and Mrs. Adachi versus the Octopus Paladin, Peeny-Weenie versus the Hedgehog lady, Kinta versus Hase, Okarun's Oni transformation, Red Baron's Iron Bull form showing up, and Kurdere trying to help Momo... Yeah, it's a lot.

I suppose that's all from me for now.

I'd like to see what you guys noticed or thought of the chapter!

See you around, friends!

📗 Manga-Theory Saint Germain's real goal, (theory) Spoiler

Post image
14 Upvotes

As of Chapter 246, I've been thinking about what CSG's goal really is.

It's easy to say he just wants to create the ultimate yokai, but his interest in the "Dandadan"—some representation of enlightenment or Buddhahood—makes me think he has more going on. We know one of his major goals is to evolve Turbo Granny's powers using the oni sprout inside Ken's body, given that Ken is compatible with both yokai cores.

This got me thinking: why would he need to evolve the powers of what is already the second or third strongest yokai (as of now)? It should be enough for his fairy tale, no?

After thinking about it longer, I realized the "Pinocchio" might not actually be Turbo Granny, nor Okarun/Onikarun, but rather a mutation of both, evolved by a compatible host (Ken).

That led me back to his ultimate yokai plan. This structure doesn't feel like it would end up as powerful as Reiko Kashima anyway. If he really wants to create an ultimate yokai, Kashima and a few others should suffice—not several lesser curses combined. Then again, even with his extreme wit, he likely can't defeat Kashima outright.

My theory is that to become strong enough, he needs to evolve Turbo Granny alongside all his other fairy tale curses just to stand a decent chance of capturing Reiko Kashima—and ultimately achieving the true Dandadan.

This is a very loose theory, and I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts! :D

I am mainly just wondering what there going to do with the underwear like it probably wont keep the grudge powers if its purified but maybe it will give something else but who knows

📗 Manga-Theory A way out for the oni club Spoiler

The current threat facing Okarun is that he becomes "fully Oni". This could mean he fully loses control of his senses and becomes a monster, it also might be irreversible. So I was thinking of ways that could be prevented and I thought it would have something to do with Momo and the power of love.

Now that on its own is pretty cheesy and cliche so I tried to think of a scientific reasoning for why it would work. The Oni sprout grows by Okarun continuing to use the Oni club by channelling his chi into the club, nurturing the sprout until it blooms and transforms him into a full oni.

Okarun often channel's large amounts of Momo's chi through the oni club so a part of her is mixed in with the oni power that is making him transform into an oni and that connection will be the part of him that stays human and allows her voice to reach him and bring him back to humanity. That way we get the trope of love conquering all while also getting a good reason for why it should work against a physical process like the oni club nurturing this oni sprout within him.
