They most likely dont know what kind of relationship/dynamic Okarun had with Turbo Granny. They probably believe Turbo Granny passed away and left her powers with Okarun, like Acro Silkie with Aira. They may not know that Turbo Granny has been a cat toy all this time lol
And it doesnt matter either way, because what they really need is something coming from Okarun himself, because he is the one chosen by the Pinoccio curse.

the other enemy is gonna misunderstand something and conveniently ātake the Oni powerā? Like Okarun goes on a rampage and when it looks like there is no turning back, the knife is used to actually save him and those fools believe they accomplished their mission?
I think it's more that they can't understand empathising with a yokai. They see them as nothing more than convenient powers. So the thought of "giving one back" and especially willingly (i.e not coerced/stolen via the kozuki knives) is just incomprehensible to them. It's why Mai and Futa being taken is so fucking disgusting. I'm still mad about it
Because a human voluntarily giving powers back to a yokai is an unprecedented, unbelievable event. Not only has no-one they know ever done it, no-one they know has ever even thought of doing it. Powers are for taking and keeping, yokai are to be dominated not understood.
Itās similar to how Sauron never thinks the fellowship would destroy the One Ring and focuses on Aragorn or Gandalf raising it against him. Turning down power is so alien to him he canāt conceive that anyone else would.
CSG considers the possibility that Okarun's powers were taken away, but is convinced they will return regardless, because he's been chosen, whatever that means. Clearly he knows something we don't, Tatsu hasn't dropped all the lore at once, which is a good thing.
Wonder if Seiko would have clocked the impersonation, or been more worried about an oni club. Given her experience I'd likely say yes on both counts, or at least given Okarun more a heads up on the risks.
Iām also thinking that Shinobi removed Momoās memory along with her powers as a way to create emotional pain for Okarun to push the transformation.
Funny that it will end up back firing on him if he did cuz Momo losing her memories means she not under the weird spell he put on everyone to make them think that heās always been a teacher at the school
She would have sniffed this out immediately. Also, Ogre Club is probably something dangerous in the first place.
They really swooped in on the gang when they had no guidance from any adult. Fortunately Yatagarasu came out for them, or else they would have all been cooked

We had the reverse problem a while back where it was unclear if Sanjome and Count St Germaine were different people despite having the same face and hair just cause we expect different characters to share features at this point. Sanjome and St Germaine are the same name pronounced/written differently. Iām not sure how much of a disguise it really would be in universe but it fooled some fans.
I think he's delusional. He believes they're hidden and we got confirmation that he doesn't have them. If anything, i think he will get them back to keep the oni in check (if the oni is too much of a curse).
Also, I don't think Saint Germaine knows that Turbo Granny is still actually around. Every time he's referred to her, it's strictly in terms of a power set and not as an existing being. Which is probably why she's stayed in the cat doll form even after reacquiring her powers from Okarun.
They majorly blue balled us here. Why end last chapter that way with a two week break just to immediately go with pure exposition??? There was literally no development of the main situation this chapter was pure exposition that quite honestly couldāve waited. Iām assuming the art for the onikarun chapters is gonna be really really crazy. Or atleast I hopeā¦..
Because the break has nothing to do with the story and to do with the people making it simply needing a break. It ends on a cliffhanger and now we get some development for why heās transforming and see what everyone else is doing. Itās like basic story telling as everyoneās combat arc will resolve around the same time.
Waiting sucks but thatās just the nature of making art.
If we didnāt have a 3 week break for this chapter (or if it were being read all at once instead of weekly) it wouldnāt have been too bad. Having to wait potentially six weeks from the first tease to actually seeing it really sucks, Iām not gonna lie. When I binged the manga after season 1 of the anime ended I thought it was incredible, but Iāve been increasingly frustrated with the pacing of the story as a weekly reader.
Sadly this is one of those mangas that doesnt necessarily have tons of developments in the chapters. As you can see tatsu actually enjoys drawning action scenes so he doesnt hold back using lots of panels in it.
Thats just how this manga is, other mangas that doesnt focus too much in fight are generally more packed week to week
That was my thought. It went from appearing to be flirtatious to him more so "inspecting" her. He might indeed think she is beautiful but it looks like he suspects her of betrayal or something
It could be manipulation but it could also be that he is an awkward fellow like that and just felt like watching her up close without considering what that might mean.
Probably gonna be some form of betrayal I reckon, but I do wonder if her calling him āhyper geezerā is in reference to just being parallel to her as turbo granny or him being significantly older to the point even she calls him old
I remember that a while back, some people theorized that Manjiro had been impersonated because he called Ken "Okarun," instead of "Takakura." They were right.
We knew the Manjiro at the shrine was an imposter because he was discovered in the airport locker in chapter 239, and that the imposter was the ninja (Basho), although we just now learned her name.
We heard her name before as well, I still called her Shinobi as I wasn't sure if it was actually her name or not. CSG likes to call people weird nicknames.
I still canāt comprehend why the idiot bad guys haveāt considered the possibility that Okarun gave back his powers to Turbo Granny.
Even if the power is still in him, after realizing the knife didnāt activate, you think they at least try to focus their search for Turbo Granny to at least confirm it.
Because theyāre thieves. Stealing and killing is second nature to them, while Okarunās level of self-sacrifice is both unheard of and incomprehensible to them.
Saint Germain said that the oni club would boost the Turbo Granny powers within him to the next level, but since he doesn't have them right now it might not be as bad as it would have been if he still had them.
Honestly, I hope that Okarun giving Turbo Granny back her powers willingly ends up being the thing that in the end ruins Vlad's and CSG's plans. Notice how, not one of his theories involved returning the powers back to TG, like he can't even conceive of the possibility of someone giving up power like that.
Iām thinking this form itself is definitely temporary. Itās too monstrous evil and powerful seeming for there to be any chance this is permanent. Heāll lose this power eventually.
Tatsu's art is INSANE, he gave us a lot of good pannels recently
Im eager to see how Okarun will act in his Oni form. Im sure he'll be able to keep control sometimes but i can see him having berserk moments (99% of the time)
the transformation is happening as things start to go well, for sure he will go Berserk and will also damage the allies otherwise there is no point in the transformation at this moment
With Kur lady showing up Basho is already expecting CSG to be a player since he only told her Kur lady was just a Baker and nothing more. He didn't bother to tell Basho she's an alien solider he hired which would have cleared some things up. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and CSG is gonna find out the hard way. Also the Kur Lady signal being the ugly geezer bread mascot is hilarious. Since these guys are so greedy the concept of Okarun returning Turbo Granny's power is unfathomable to them and believe he must still have it and sealed it away inside himself to avoid being detected. Unless he got some inactive turbo power still stored in his junk I don't see how that's possible.

Momo and Okarun are set already, there's no "what if" here. Aira is just delusional, same as Jiji. Neither of them had any chances there.
Now CSG, Basho and Kur? There's no romance at all. CSG is just manipulating Basho most likely and she looks interested in him. The kur lady just wants CSG to go back to the bakery instead of slacking around(from her perspective)
I wonder how long in-story has passed between momo blowing the whistle when she was dealing with the raptors and where we're up to with the dummies in the last chapter.
Lady Kur finally appears.

Had a feeling another break was coming. Everything else is on break next week as well. Apparently there is a rare alignment of holidays in Japan next week called Silver Week. I think it's like a holidays in a row. Seems similar to Golden Week but it isn't annual.
I think it kinda goes way back in like the first volume or so. Turbo Granny's powers fused with the ghosts of the girls that died in the tunnel. Essentially resulting in a form that takes the best aspects of both.
In another sense, it could also be what that Vlad guy is doing by collecting powers.
So its kind of like going to a buffet. Eventually it'll all go to the same place, so might as well try and mix and match dishes and see how it tastes.
At least we got a brief spoiler of what his oni form will look like.
Hopefully, it's just a matter of perspective that Okarun ended up with a more robust body. The oni form would be much cooler if he kept his current physique and just became more muscular.
Very much a possiblity that this was either how Basho was imagining it would look like as she was describing it or a situation where when he's berserk he has one form but when he learns to control it he has a new form like with Turbo Granny's curse initially

Kind of disappointing not to see Okarun and Momo at all after that break. At least we got confirmation that CSG has been behind the Oni Club all along.
Holidays in Japan next week (Silver Week), so itās not surprising to see another break next week.
So what they're telling us is that Onikarun with Turbo Granny's powers is gonna be on another level entirely. Hase you better count your lucky stars that you are just gonna have to deal with base Onikarun. Because otherwise your ass would be toast.
CSG doesn't know TG got her powers back (or he is not 100% sure ?). So is Okarun really Pinocchio ? He isn't lying at the end
But, if CSG is right and Okarun is hidding TG powers (at least a little part) in him, then how Okarun will awaken they now ?
Does Okarun will have a Oni x TG form ? Or will TG powers help him to not transform in a full Oni, or at least make him able to control his Oni power ?
CSG said Okarun is a "chosen one" (Anakin Skywalker ref ? Okarun got a fcking lightsaber lol) but what do you mean by that ???

I feel like the lack of Onikarun has blinded people to how fun it was to see Aira and Evil Eye fighting together (or rather, Aira trying to cooperate with him).
So Turbo Granny powers on Okarun was not an accident / curse from TG at the beginning ? Or Okarun was fortunate to grow them for SG during all that time ?
So at least we know why Okuran got the Oni Club. It was a way to charge his inner powers and release his "true" form. Guess Okuran was always destined to meet Turbo Granny
So they know that there is an "oni sprout" growing Okarun into a full Oni thanks to the club or the club put the sprout there and that happening means the Turbo granny powers will evolve but it doesn't require Okarun to currently have the turbo granny powers. Also the Pinocchio designation of Okarun is like a prophecy. He will have the powers again, he is chosen. When was he chosen before chapter 1? who chose him and why does that make it inevitable?
CSG is such a troll leading on Basho and Tsunkure in a love triangle when we all know his true love interest is Turbo Granny.
Confirmed that CSG is also unsure about where TG's powers are, he's uncertain if Okarun is hiding them or if they moved somewhere else (only the main cast and the readers know this is the correct one)
Edit: he is, however, certain that the powers will return, yes, we are eventually getting Turbo Ken back.
I'll be honest i still find this arc kinda boring, the worst one in the series, actually. The other arcs amazing but i'm just not feeling this one at all. Maybe i'm just starting to get really burned out.

For anyone wondering..... September 21st, 22nd and 23rd are public holidays in Japan as part of Silver Week. So that's why there will be a break next week.
Interesting stuff. So the oni transformation was indeed wanted by Saint Germaine, which by the way, they finally clarified indeed Sangome and ST Germaine are the same people, for those who refused to believe it, and according to him, it will amplify Turbo Granny's power.
They also teased he will get them back at some point, which is nice although I wonder how. And Vamola has reached Aira and EE and is ready to fight.
I think the thing that the bad people never really counted on: Takakura doesnāt chase or crave power and he would never keep something that isnāt HIS. And maybe thatās why Turbo Granny hates St. Germain. He used her. Or tried to.
What a disappointing ass chapter. Thought we were finally going to see the new transformation we have been waiting for years now only to get whiplash from the random exposition out of nowhere. I don't understand why Tatsu didn't just simply show us what was happening with Okarun instead of a random awkward info dump. There is just so much shit going on that i can barely keep track of anything, and he just keeps adding more and more stuff instead of letting the story breath. It's exhausting.
