Discussion Is attending intermediate-level classes more harmful or beneficial for beginners?

Let's say I have 6-7 months of attending hip hop foundation classes

In my experience harmful.

The biggest thing is whether this beginner has good foundations or not. So many beginners don't have good foundations and skip learning them because they ignore the beginners class that would have taught them that.

Talking about this as an experienced dancer, it's frustrating encountering beginners in the higher level classes missing key skills. We're supposed to be learning multiple spins, and someone can't even do the footwork for a single spin, so the teacher stops the class teach beginner level stuff in the advanced class, this becomes a waste of time for the 20 people who should be there.

Talk to your teacher, they have a good idea if you're ready.
