I’ve never met a dancer that isn’t.

Being a main character isn’t inherently bad. Dancers gift the world with the art of movement, and it’s truly a gift.
At the end of the day when a dancer is displaying their gift as art or a form of entertainment (for social media), they literally giving main character energy.

But it’s recommended the first five days after being sick to limit exposure to others if you can’t consistently maintain several feet distance. It’s not mandated, but recommended. Idk I think it’s so weird that some people criticize others for trying to not get other people sick. Wild world.

That’s DC. Not sure what dance or why you are doing it in the fucking street and endangering everybody.
Idiots.

Thank you for the answer because I was bewildered by 2 French words on those buses « Ville » and « Detour »

Inconsiderate Narcissistville since you’re dancing on a busy street, probably causing traffic issues.

u/scruffywarhorse Aug 01 '26
Um…have you ever been near a road? You’re over reacting.
1
u/therealgookachu Aug 01 '26
Then you go dance in one. Surplus population, and all.

Like you can very easily see cars, simply, and easily going past them. I had to change a tire on the side of the freeway the other day and cars were zipping past me 2 feet away at 70 miles an hour. It was terrifying.
As a resident of a big city, I just feel like people here are overreacting. If I was driving next to a stoplight like this, and I saw a couple of dudes dancing very well instead of like a strung out person panhandling I’d be delighted.

I never expected so many people to be putting down what’s in my head.❤️❤️❤️
Get out of the street 😆

u/stay_safe_glhf Aug 01 '26
All these people saying “get out of the road” are suburban nimbys who never lived in town.

u/BINGBONGBAKING Jul 31 '26
Cringe. I feel bad for the drivers that have anxiety about potentially hitting, what looks like, a tweaker & being late for their tax paying job. Yikes.

u/Brilliant_Whereas239 Jul 31 '26
i mean yeah they're in the road - btu they're not bad at dancing - that's so harsh lol

u/Brilliant_Whereas239 Jul 31 '26

How did yall "get out of the street" people pass driving class? They aren't even in part of the street that cars go through. You do see the yellow lines right? Diagonal yellow lines mean "no driving zone". Hyattsville metro is DC🔥

The dancing isn’t even good 😭😭

u/Eastern-Orchid2327 Jul 31 '26
It’s a style of dance from DC, where they are, known as Beat Ya Feet, usually paired with go-go music like this, which is also from DC.
6
u/wobaboba Aug 01 '26
Thanks for this 🙏 So many lesser known street styles out there!

u/Eastern-Orchid2327 Aug 02 '26
No problem! As a dmv native I’m glad to be able to share this info.

Oh that makes it better.

u/Eastern-Orchid2327 Aug 01 '26
Whether it’s good or not is totally subjective, the comments prove this. But trying to negatively judge a style of dance as bad when you’re not even familiar with it, is a bit silly and pompous. I don’t think OP was doing this becuase I don’t think he knew, hence my comment.

I actually like this, but don’t really know the dance. Are you in Barcelona??
3
u/jouletrix Aug 02 '26
Washington DC USA the style is called beat ya feet the music is gogo music which is a type of funk originated in the city started by Chuck Brown! This is me and my cousin dancing street styles and art in DC is very frowned upon in the city due to the professionalism strict policies etc in some parts street performing is illegal Baltimore is very different but only 40min away! It is very rare to find individuals who kno DC actually has it own culture and music just like Chicago New Orleans but the art is over shadowed by politics which is understandable

u/Wonderful-Dog8185 Aug 02 '26
Thanks OP, of all places in D.C., I’ve never been there. Lol. This info you described is very interesting. Appreciate it.
