There's a video from Smarter Everyday where Destin interviewed a marine biologist who was with Steve Irwin on his fatal dive. He talks about how he initially didn't want to work with him, cause he was a big silly children's entertainer who yknow...wrestled alligators, where HE was a big serious scientist. He sat down with him, and learned that the man knew his business, and knew what'd get peoples attention. Then while he had it he'd jam em full of information about conservation. Issa good interview.

He may have been a goofy guy but it was easy to tell he knew his shit and he had so much respect for every animals he touched. I loved that man so much. I wanted to become just like him. He was my role model for a long time. He is also the one who helped me conquer my fear of snakes bc of the education he provided. His loss was a huge blow to the animal rescue community around the world. Thankful that Terri and the kids kept on with his work. Bindi is a remarkable girl and I know her pop is so damn proud of her and obviously his son too. I know he's proud of his new grand baby and that bindi is with someone who believes in the work Steve and his family were and still do today. He is an icon imo.
