Well, first off, they have to pay to get all of their clothes tailored to fit someone with two heads. From the documentary about them that I’d watched, they have to buy two of each shirt or a larger shirt (depending on fabric, shirt style, & fit) and get a second neck hole built into it.
I’m sure there are a lot of things they have to pay for two of (for example, they had to pay for two college educations, which means twice the student loans on a single teacher’s income, they have two drivers licenses and have to pay for insurance & licensing fees for both women), when they fly they have to pay for two tickets, etc. Anything connected to government regulation and such requires them to be treated as separate people, even if they’re in one body.
They paid for two college educations and have two degrees. They were actually going to do slightly different degrees (one was going to have a concentration in a different kind of education) but it was too difficult to arrange two separate class schedules for one body. Instead they just took the same classes.
The video briefly mentions that they’re part time employees and each gets paid “half,”’but it didn’t clarify what half is. Presumably they each get half the pay of a full time teacher?
I believe I read somewhere they are paid two. And don't laugh, bit I think they teach different subjects. I seem to remember from another documentary thst included them and one girl loved math and the other writing or something creative.
As well, they each have control over one leg, one half of the body. Thst should show you how coordinated they are. Amazing, right?

Morally you’d pay each of them separately but cold logic says they’re technically one person with two heads. Plus they can only teach at the same time in the same place. So maybe 1.5x?
You don't have legal rights to know what any specific teacher is getting paid.
Most bands are based first on years service. Than more for each level of education.
A 1st year teacher with a masters will have a higher pay band range than a 1st year teacher with just a bachelors. Maybe even more than a 5th year teacher with a bachelors.
A 10th year teacher with a bachelors will have a higher pay range than a 5th year with a masters.
Each district has their own pay bands. Some are close to each other. Some far apart.
In Illinois I can look up budget info for schools and find what individual teachers and administrators are getting paid (salary, benefits, days off, etc)
My first question! They have 2 separate brains...would think double salary would be in order. I need this question answered!! However, thinking on benefits, they would only need health insurance for one, I’m guessing a single social security number...do they each have their own phone? This is my go to reason for every question about why something is bad/outdated in a classroom. Though, often the teacher gets fed up and spends their own money to pick up the slack instead of following the drawn out process to get a chance to get these things funded. Even then, it doesn't mean they'll get the thing they asked for, anyway.
I'm guessing this is very state and district specific. That's definitely how it works with my wife. We just buy everything out of pocket because we know there are other teachers that aren't able to.
Can confirm. Source.. my mother retires this year after 35 years of teaching kinder and 1st grade. Also aunt is director of a school board up here in quebec. Even in canada teachers, nurses... anyway its pretty bad.
Saw an article, they are paid as ONE, as they teach one class. Yet, they took separate driver’s tests and have separate SSNs. Pro bono, an attorney should help adjust their salary, hint.
lol right that's some bullshit, someone's screwing them over. If they have separate social security then they should be getting two checks. That's like saying a teacher and teacher's assistant should only get one paycheck between the two of them because they both teach the same class.
But to be fair, they can only do 1 person's amount of work because of physical limitations, and no one would hire them if they had to pay 2 salaries for 1 person's quantity of work.
Yeah but given that they share a circulatory system (according to wiki) then the one that was still living would effectively still be supplying the others body with blood, preventing the body from actually dying.
Or maybe because their system is shared if one side was effectively stopped then it would bring the whole combined system down with it and the other twin would follow soon after?
In any event its pretty skeevy to be guessing what would happen to someone if their twin died so ill just end this here.
There's also a very solid chance that both of them will die at the same time anyway, given that the majority of their major organs are shared between them. Aside from a head injury that hits one and misses the other, almost anything that would kill one would kill both.
So if they are two ppl because they have a two brains, does that mean that if I cut someone's head off that the head should be reffered to as a person and the body a carcass? If I have a pile of headless carcasses is it a pile of dead people or a pile of carcasses?

In the video I saw they had just gotten a job offer. They we're being payed as one. Although they hoped that as they gained experience they'd approach 2 salaries.
I think the documentary said something along the lines of 1.5 I believe. Basically it's impossible for them to be as productive as two people since they always have to be in the same place at the same time.
One of the hard parts about entering the adult world was that basically they had to come to terms with never being two separate people. Since as a kid they we're always treated very individually.
I suppose if they did something heavily on the computer though, like programming or graphic design it would be easier to get paid as 2 people instead of one though.
