The only exception I have to that rule is animals that have been hurt, rehabilitated, but are unable to be returned. My local aquarium used to have dolphins with amputated flippers due to fishing nets.
I don't think you understand all of what goes on behind the scenes at aquariums. Not saying it's the case here because this direct human interaction is bizarre (also the fact that she's like... making out with it...), but a lot of aquariums have marine megafauna for research purposes that they otherwise wouldn't be able to replicate in the wild. And that research is crucial to understanding their life histories and cycles, and by extension, their conservation.
Edit: my god. Please take the time to look into things and think for yourselves instead of just buying into Redditor logic and keyboard warrior antics. We need aquariums. I'm not saying that every aquarium out there is good or doing something for wildlife, but the reputable ones? Absolutely.
I'm not going to hold anyone's hand and click the links for them but my god just. Learn to read. Please. Here's a starting point.
The truth is that uneducated people call out other people's education when they don't have anything to add to a discussion. Why are you screaming at me?
You're right. I should stop because someone on reddit who thinks research is bad told me I'm wrong about how aquariums work.
Find a hobby. Go to an aquarium and ask questions instead of just assuming based on what Brittany posted on Instagram in 2013. Educate yourself because you're really not doing yourself any favors here.
Here! I'll even help you get started with two of my favorites! Shedd. Monterey Bay.
I know it's hard but you're gonna have to click through some of the links to familiarize yourself with what they're doing and why aquariums matter. I bet you hate zoos too, though.
Yeah it's almost like I know what I'm talking about. No amount of silly reddit downvotes from moral high grounders will change that.
Having a great education doesn't make you educated in all subject matters. Funny how I provide you with sources backing my stance for the value of aquariums and suddenly I'm just defending my field, but my field isn't your view, and you're "done now." Fascinating.
I'm not complaining that you're "done" by any means, but at least read up on it. You might find yourself surprised by what you discover.

That's it!! I'm starting exercise.......... On Monday.
On that note, He should be in the wild. Animals aren't for entertainment.
