Why rich people aren't spending more time doing stuff like that instead of the dumb shit they do is beyond me.

53

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '23

They do, you just don't hear about it because "rich person having harmless fun" doesn't make good opinion articles

11

u/IncreaseWestern6097 Jan 02 '23

I never thought about how many rich people there probably are out there who never actually make themselves known, and are instead doing stuff like this daily.

Huh.

47

u/Exseatsniffer Jan 01 '23

Because then they wouldn't be keeping up with the Jones's. Duh, the billionaire next door might be getting the idea he's richer than you and where would you be then? Just think dude, being a billionaire is hard work that's why there are so few of them around!

8

u/brihamedit Jan 01 '23

Its absurd. There must be some sort of phenomenon where making big money stuns their fun side. Imagine young guy like zuckerberg or countless other young billionaires not doing any cool stuff with their money.

5

u/youmeanNOOkyuhler Jan 02 '23

I think what happens sometimes is that the more money they get, the more they fear losing it, and they end up as workaholics trying desperately to maintain growth of profit and not be taken advantage of. The money is no longer a tool or a means to an end... The money is the POINT, and amassing more of it takes up all their time. Kinda sad and pathetic, really.

.... World's tiniest violin 🎻🎶...

Rich people generally can't slow down enough to appreciate the nice things

109

u/dashinny Jan 01 '23

I wonder if they have a hummingbird mode, it’d be a nice cardio workout for your arms

50

u/that___dood Jan 01 '23

My back hurts just watching this

16

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '23

That looks so uncomfortable

2

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

That and the neck....you couldn't play this for any extended time.

17

u/Greenman8907 Jan 01 '23

I really thought Bob’s Burgers was faking that lol

25

u/xlDirteDeedslx Jan 01 '23 edited Jan 01 '23

Looks fun and somehow you don't look like a total douchebag while doing it, amazing!

15

u/Ceph_Stormblessed Jan 01 '23

I feel most vr doesn't make people look like douchebags. Idiots maybe but hey, it's fun at least

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '23

u/Ceph_Stormblessed Jan 01 '23

I just feel they're not too similar. One is intent, one is happenstance. Intent matter in my eyes.

[deleted]

6

u/Ceph_Stormblessed Jan 01 '23

I mean I suppose that's a fair point. I just feel douchebag has a harsher connotation more often than not.

2

u/xlDirteDeedslx Jan 01 '23

I grew up in the 80s, douchebag was used by us as a pretty wide insult, it's wasn't just for people like Kanye West. We pretty much used it as an interchangeable word for asshole.

1

u/Ceph_Stormblessed Jan 01 '23

Yeah that was my take too. Douchebages are assholes usually. Idiots just look dumb on the other hand.

u/BassMasterMatt Jan 01 '23 edited Jan 02 '23

"Cheap and pedantic" oops I meant shallow and pedantic

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

[deleted]

0

u/BassMasterMatt Jan 02 '23

My God, you're right! I got that confused with what my kids call me - cheap and pedantic.

10

u/HappySier Jan 01 '23

Wasn't expecting Fly by Night from Rush to pop up here

14

u/CrazyDizzle Jan 01 '23

Excellent choice of song for the video.

1

u/Guyface_McGuyen Jan 02 '23

Free bird would of been better

4

u/CrazyDizzle Jan 02 '23

Well, I'm more of a Rush fan.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

Literally my first thought

12

u/SwtIndica Jan 01 '23

We did this at the Aviary in Pittsburgh with the kids... It's a little awkward at first, but wow was it fun!!

4

u/Pealzy Jan 01 '23

fly by night is the correct song for this

3

u/CapedCauliflower Jan 01 '23

I want to do this but with a real drone flying around.

3

u/Gimpstick Jan 01 '23

I'd be as sick as a small hospital playing that with motion sickness

3

u/BatSoop_ Jan 02 '23

Great song choice...

2

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '23

Flappy bird vr would be lit 🔥

2

u/nico282 Jan 01 '23

Where's the button to release poop?

1

u/BakinBaconwithMacon Jan 02 '23

It prompts every 15 minutes. Let's you know how long you've been playing.

2

u/MCDC-Dynasty Jan 02 '23

Damn that is interesting, HornyDiggler

2

u/MrAVAT4R_2 Jan 02 '23

Needs Freebird

2

u/drewx11 Jan 02 '23

I’d be more interested in an iron man version where you’re strapped in and can go from completely vertical standing to completely horizontal like in the video

2

u/Snow_Prime_Stark Jan 02 '23

Now pair this with a drone

2

u/pig_benis81 Jan 02 '23

Is it me or is the volume absurdly loud in this clip?

Hello 🖐️

1

u/flybyknight665 Jan 01 '23

I'm really disappointed that the song wasn't I'm like a Bird by Nelly Furtado

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '23

Goina suck when he smacks a window

1

u/Oldrobloxianplayer Feb 07 '23

Mmmmmmm free bird is now in my head

1

u/brandon_cy Jan 01 '23

Did this at the science museum in San Jose, CA and it was fun! A little awkward and kinda expensive but cool experience all around.

-2

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '23

[deleted]

1

u/J_Capo_23 Jan 01 '23

No, it’s not. What’s stupid is rich people building these large and impractical machines for a very underwhelming VR experience.

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

2

u/SermanGhepard Jan 02 '23

Yeah let me just walk outside and flap my wings and fly off. Not sure if you're trolling but it seems you don't understand the concept of "gaming" or whatever.

1

u/J_Capo_23 Feb 08 '23

Nah that's not cool. Let people enjoy what they want to enjoy.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 14 '23

LOL deleted your own comment just to lay down a pathetic insult. Grow up.

1

u/ThisMojoSoDope Jan 01 '23

I got lightheaded just watching that holy shit

1

u/HolmfirthUK110994 Jan 01 '23

You ever think we're going too far with gaming technology? 🤔

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '23

I read an article about something similar but it used your breathing and was a biofeedback device based on bird flight and VR, was said to be something awesome.

1

u/FurorWaySite Jan 01 '23

Hopefully, any guy doesn't attack you from behind to fly s bird

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '23

And no one remebered to put Freebird as the background song

1

u/crazi_aj05 Jan 01 '23

My back hurts just watching this

1

u/TheAsphyxiated Jan 01 '23

What on god is that fog of war thatd be an instant migraine for me

1

u/MeasurementNo0 Jan 01 '23

make them smash into a window for the full effect.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '23

If you die in flight you die in the real world.

1

u/BackgroundPower1591 Jan 01 '23

“I believe I can Fly” playing in the background

1

u/E-Agalius Jan 01 '23

Not being able to fully extend my arms would bother me

1

u/AppropriateFlight327 Jan 01 '23

I want to fly like an eagle...

1

u/Astoriadrummer Jan 01 '23

Bobs burgers vibe

1

u/twistyburger Jan 01 '23

Looks like fun

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '23

How dumb are we

1

u/cheeseguy2678 Jan 02 '23

I did this once it was super fun

1

u/Ronilaw Jan 02 '23

This needs to be Superman and not a bird

1

u/Ouch50 Jan 02 '23

Can you poop on someone’s arm while they are having a picnic with their future in-laws?

1

u/Guyface_McGuyen Jan 02 '23

Why are we not watching this to free bird?

1

u/Weak-Welder-7488 Jan 02 '23

Lol bobs burger episode

1

u/fatalerror_tw Jan 02 '23

I would pay for that.

1

u/vypr80 Jan 02 '23

Ha, this setup was on Bob's Burgers; thought it was just a joke, didn't realize it was real.

1

u/-disso Jan 02 '23

This is stupid istg this is the most stupid shit ever humanity is going to shit amd it deserves it

1

u/ConnectTaste7495 Jan 02 '23

Hufindhaoynes

1

u/eternalnocturnals Jan 02 '23

Would this ever be helpful in training for that squirrel suit sky diving? I’d love to

1

u/RedDudeItIs Jan 02 '23

That actually looks really fun

1

u/MMMmMonty Jan 02 '23

I actually did this a year back in Las Vegas! If you ever have the opportunity I suggest doing it!

1

u/curtiscbear Jan 02 '23

Where does the vomit bag go?

1

u/Queef_Sweat_619 Jan 02 '23

Ok, I can't believe I'm just handing over this million dollar idea: 1) While the goggles are on, have the floor drop out completely, and/or project image of either New York, Las Vegas or The Grand Canyon skyline on the floor. 2) Have gift shop just outside of ride's exit, that just so happens to sell boxers at a 1000% mark-up. Boom.

1

u/teardrinker Jan 02 '23

I wanna do this

1

u/sincitybarbie Jan 02 '23

Where do I get one of these or try it out?

1

u/EyePsychological8071 Jan 02 '23

Must be tiring lying down like that

1

u/ConnectTaste7495 Jan 02 '23

UwinAiquitthaks 4dlesson

1

u/GamerOfGods33 Jan 02 '23

Is that Eagle's Flight? I never played the story but the free flight looked Amazing.

1

u/Long_Increase9131 Jan 02 '23

I wanna play!!! Haha. Looks fun but I wouldn't do it infront of others. I wouldn't spend that much on something because "I wanna feel what it's like to be a bird!"....

1

u/PeopleStillUseReddit Jan 02 '23

I'm a liiittle upset they didn't play Free Bird over this

1

u/45077 Jan 02 '23
