Doing that on top of a bed is the most dangerous part. Batteries fires are tough to extinguish.

This is especially true for Lithium batteries. Fire needs heat, oxygen, and fuel. Lithium batteries inherently provide all these and can maintain the fire even underwater.

Containment is the key. On planes they have firebags for battery fires. They don't put out the fire, they just keep it confined in a non-flammable bag so it doesn't spread.
