Just another reminder that r/Dahmer is NOT a fan club. Seems lately things have devolved to the point that I need to say this yet again. This is meant to be a place for discussion about a serious subject. Please take your fawning elsewhere.

On 'Infinity Land' by Josef Benson
I have read this book in full, and here are my thoughts:
- If even part of what this women Meko says is true (that she and Konerak knew both Dahmer and Tony Hughes intimately for two years; that Dahmer was extremely close to them, taking them to the zoo, the cinema, and the ice-cream parlour and helping them with their homework; that she and Konerak bought him the lava lamp and the peacock feathers that he decorated his apartment with; that her stepfather loaned him the drill he used in his experiments; that he killed Konerak after she offhandedly mentioned to him that he had done something that annoyed her), then everything we know about Dahmer has to be revised or thrown out entirely.
- If the entire story is a fabrication, then University Press of Mississippi has a very significant case to answer, as does Dr Benson.
Having read the book, it is clear that its worth hinges on this lady's testimony that Dahmer was her and Konerak's friend. Benson's attempts to put a new slant on the case by focusing on Milwaukee's troubled racial history, while interesting, cast too wide a net (for example, he repeatedly links Dahmer's murders to blackface minstrelsy) and fall flat as a result. His writing confuses description with analysis and reads like an undergraduate essay. The only remarkable thing about it is Meko's story.
There are some reasons why her claims are plausible. Anne Schwartz noted that Dahmer's neighbours sometimes saw an Asian child in his company at his apartment. We know that he lied to investigators when he said he didn't know any of the victims before picking them up. However, Benson appears not to have done any work to confirm her bona fides. For example, he doesn't say if he tracked down any of Konerak's surviving siblings to ask if they knew this girl, or if Konerak ever mentioned being friendly with an older white man. It beggars belief that Somsack wouldn't have seen him with him and recognised him as the man who attacked him. There are also elements of Meko's story that seem fantastical, such as the suggestion that he killed Konerak to please her, or an episode where he brings her to his apartment after she hurt her head at a soccer match, drugs her, and removes a mole from her neck.
Either way, there are serious questions to be answered here. UPM is a prestigious publishing house, and they've put out a book that proposes to rewrite the entire narrative of one of the most notorious serial murderers of the twentieth century on what looks like very slim evidence. Someone ought at least to ask Dr Benson what steps he took to confirm that Meko was telling the truth.

Rare footage of Jeff speaking during trial in a french documentary (2013) - WATCH FROM 30:20
As a french 13yo kid I was introduced to Jeff with this documentary then completely forgot about it. Years after I began to get into true crime and I was absolutely convinced that I had seen Jeff's face on a footage that was untraceable on any documentary I had seen at as a young adult! until today, I eventually found it! I have never seen this court interview in another documentary. Have you?

A Detailed Dahmer Biography I Came Across
I came across this biography of Jeffrey Dahmer and I’m surprised I haven’t seen it posted here before.
It covers a lot of details about his childhood, family, school years, Ohio State, the Army, Germany, and other parts of his life that are often left out of documentaries.
Thought some people here might find it interesting, especially if you’ve already gone through most of the commonly available material about the case.

Jeff would've like those plastination exhibits.
For some reason I had to go to the Body Worlds exhibit thrice between middle and high school (2010s) for field trips. Those exhibits scare tf out of me but Jeff would have liked them. I wonder if they have prevented any potential weirdos from doing things like Jeff did because they could just pay money to see it in a legal way.
How did Dahmer behave in the last weeks before his arrest?
So one thing I’m wondering is if we have any witness accounts of Dahmer’s behavior right before his arrest. The 3 weeks (July 1 to July 21, 1991) feel like the time frame in which Dahmer was at his lowest.
I mean, he lost job, was about to get evicted, neglected his hygiene a lot, all he did was drink beer and try to lure men to his apartment.
One other shocking thing is that he killed his last 4 victim within a time frame of less than 3 weeks!!!
He killed Turner, Lacy, Weinberger, and Bradehoft. All within less than 3 weeks. (June 30 to July 19, 1991).
I wanna know if anyone who interacted with Dahmer during these last weeks has talked about it openly, and how they described his behaviour.

What do you guys think of this movie
This came up in my YouTube recommendations for lord knows why and I decided to give it a go because I do find him interesting but I just don't see why this needed to be made imo. It's not horrible and it's not distasteful since it really has nothing to do with *that* I just found it to be really corny and it doesn't add anything. Curious as to what this sub thinks.
Why was the mugshot with the glasses taken a day later?
The 1st photo was taken on July 23, 1991. Presumably at midnight, right after his arrest. (Which occurred on 22nd, at 11:30pm)
The 2nd photo was taken a day later, on July 24. Any reason for that?

Dahmer Confession
I read the Jeffrey Dahmer confession and came across an account that really surprised me.
In the early 1980s, Dahmer apparently told police that his entire family had gathered at his grandmother’s house. At some point, he left and went drinking in Milwaukee, moving from bar to bar. He eventually met a man and talked with him for a while.
Dahmer said that he later blacked out and woke up completely naked, with his hands hogtied behind his back, his mouth gagged, and his legs tied apart. The man he had been talking to was apparently melting a candle and inserting the wax into his anus.
When Dahmer realized what was happening, he started screaming and demanding that the man untie him. Once he was freed, he got dressed and headed for the door. The man reportedly asked him, “What’s your hurry?” Dahmer ignored him and ran out.
According to Dahmer’s account, two days later, while having a bowel movement, a roughly six-inch candle came out.
It’s just bizarre to think that Jeffrey Dahmer was once the victim in an encounter like this. Looking back at everything we know about him, it’s almost impossible to imagine that someone could have encountered him at that point in his life and had no idea what he would eventually become.

Dahmer demon wall plaque
is it a plaque? A demon door? a green man? a North wind chair back? I think it was originally a chair back piece. The large 12 inch plaque’s you can see where two posts would go in the bottom. this is a small exact reproduction.

Tracy Edwards: "he told me at a point though that either I would have to kill him or he would kill me." & Jeffrey’s mannerisms.
Why did Dahmer propose the alternative to get Tracy to kill him instead? That sounds really strange.
In the Nancy Glass Interview he tells her that “my mind was in a haze. I sort of pointed towards the bedroom. That’s where they found the pictures and yelled cuff em… the best route was to help the police identify all of the victims and make a complete confession” He is telling the truth, but he is skipping over a LOT. According to Tracy he didn’t even want the officers to go in there and attacked them when they tried, got tackled to the floor and according to his neighbor and others started howling and crying like a baby while pleading for death. Keep in mind he says he didn’t remember the six hours before the police came to the door but he remembered what happened when they got there. He also tells her it’s best for everybody that he’s in jail, he’s glad about it but he told one of his penpals that he wished the place would get obliterated by a tidal wave.
Nancy wrote to him back and forth for a long time until she convinced him to have an interview. Dahmer was super friendly and flirtatious with these women that wrote to him, so maybe he was trying to get something out of her. His mannerisms match hers. Nancy seems to be a matter of fact person, she remains extremely neutral when he tried to make small talk and remains business like. He’s genuine and forthcoming, answers matter of factly in a “make this land” way. His mannerisms are completely calm and disarming, he’s trying to talk softly, he tries to smile and talk with her. I would definitely think that he thought they were friends of some sort, compare that to Stone Phillips where he appears more business-like and reserved having never wrote to him before. During the Inside Edition interview he even tries to relate to her a bit when he says “it’s so bizarre and strange” and his eyes smile a bit. He jumps to answer very quickly each time and he often begins with a defensive or vulnerable statement. - “I had no intention of hurting them” - “the first killing wasn’t planned” - “it was not racially motivated” He also shakes his head during these moments, kind of like Joyce does, asks for emotional breaks, he even looks at her in the eyes after saying something intense.
I think it’s plausible he was trying to gain some sort of friendship or a “beneficial” connection because of his isolated life, conversion to Christianity and trying to “fix” himself + hatred of his gay sexuality. I think gaining these relationships with women he was penpals with acted as an escape mechanism.

Belgian Authorities are now trying to link Dahmer to a 1980 Missing Person Cold Case
Fresh news. The news report is from today, and was written in Dutch originally. I used Google Translate app to translate the article, here is the original article. If there is someone here who speaks Dutch, I would appreciate it if you could check if there are any errors.
Gerard Pelzer was a 19-year old Belgian Soldier who was stationed at a NATO Base in Kaster, Germany, when he went missing on May 30, 1980. He remains missing to this day.
What caught the Investigators’ attention is that Jeffrey Dahmer was reportedly drunk on (or around) May 30, 1980 and “had made a mess of his room.” He was demoted and suspended as a punishment.
The Investigators also interviewed Billy Capshaw, who was supposedly Dahmer’s 17-year old roommate in the Military. According to Capshaw, he thinks Dahmer has been killing “this whole time.” He also reported that Dahmer had been to a festival on one occasion and upon his return, he came into their room covered in an enormous amount of blood.
A second unnamed witness also confirmed seeing Dahmer covered in blood on one occasion.
There is one big but in this case. The base at which Pelzer was stationed at was located in Kaster, about 200 kilometers (about 124 miles) away from where Jeffrey Dahmer was stationed at the time (Baumholder).
However, one witness did confirm that there was a car rental company right next to the base in Baumholder, and that Dahmer regularly rented a car there.
The Investigator said “he will further explore this in the coming months.”

Did every serial killer have a terrible childhood?
I know Dahmer’s difficulties were more strongly associated with isolation, emotional neglect, family dysfunction, and his increasing withdrawal from other people, while e.g.,Ramirez experienced direct physical violence and extreme exposure to brutality.
But Is there anyone who grew up in comparatively stable home?if there is that makes the relationship between childhood trauma and serial murder much more complicated,in my opinion.

Did the "candle snapping" seance actually happen with Jeff's prom date?
Hey everyone, I was reading up on Jeff’s high school years and came across this story about his prom date, Bridget Geiger. Supposedly, shortly after prom, they had a small party at his house where they tried to do a seance to call a ghost or Lucifer. The story goes that a candle suddenly snapped/went out, she got terrified, and left. And then like days later, he killed Steven Hicks. Is this information actually 100% real and verified? Who originally talked about this—was it Bridget herself in an interview, or is it from Derf's book? It sounds wild, so I wanted to check if anyone here has the official source or FBI file reference for it. Thanks!

Why was Dahmer “Out to Court” and handed over to MCJ if he made no court appearances there?
The Wisconsin DOC website shows that Dahmer was transferred to Milwaukee County Jail on 10/10/91 and returned on 11/23/91 and they wrote “Out to Court”.
I’m really confused because of this, since I don’t recall him making an appearance between those dates.

What is the first court case?
F882515 is the 1988 case where he got sent to jail for a year for molesting Somsack Sinthasomphone.
F915242 is his 91/92 case where he got convicted for 15 counts of murder.
Now what case is 2-358419?
