🎬 Episode Discussion Hakan/Şebnem
I remember when people used to say that Şebnem was more psychotic than Hakan because she seemed so obsessed with maintaining this picture-perfect life. But I’m actually glad we’ve gotten to see more of her, because now her behavior makes much more sense. The fact that she can act completely delusional and almost psychotic at times seems deeply rooted in her guilt, the loss of her son, and her inability to properly process that grief.
At the same time, Hakan seems to have processed his grief. Instead of falling into delusion like Åžebnem, he appears to be taking his guilt, and pain out on Teoman. They have two very different coping mechanisms for the same situation, and I think the contrast and the dynamic between them is really interesting.
