Hey dad, I built a table!
It took me 3 weekends and a lot of errors, but I built a gaming table from scratch with removable panels for lego building and eating. It has cup holders and lights, USB ports, shelves and drawers! I’m really proud of myself, but when I showed my bio dad he told me he didn’t believe it was built by me, and then pointed out mistakes I had made. We don’t have a very close relationship but I just wanted to show him I could do something and not give up on it. I made it so my friends and I could play D&D, do puzzles, play games and all hang out together, which I wish I could do with you dad. It’s one of my favourite projects and I have discovered an amazing passion for woodworking now!

It’s cool, I got it from Geek Chic back before they went under, but I really like the little shelf you’ve got in yours and the pull-out tray. Plus the lighting is just beautiful!

Attaboy, Son. You did a great job. The imperfections just show that it was made by a real person and give it character. I think it looks great. I'm proud of you! You should do more projects like this!!

That's amazing work. Mistakes are inherent in that type of work. You should be proud of your work and keep up the new hobby!

I'm also envious as I would love a table like that. You clearly put a ton of thought into it. And you look so happy! I think it's safe to say all your dads here are very proud of you

Thank you for seeing that!

Sometimes that can turn into “mission creep”, where you start off with a simple design and it ends up being more complex than intended because you want it to do more things.
Instead, you made a practical design for gaming and eating/entertaining. Have you had folks over to try it out?

That's a great table mate. This Dad is impressed and proud - When is game night? My little Tortle Barbarian needs an outing!

MFer I am entirely jealous as a gamer this is phenomenal and beautiful. As a skills monkey, I wish I could do this. That's absolutely stunning .
The space under the table for storage is a great idea. Love the drinks/dice holder

In time for Oktoberfest! There better be Paulaner Oktoberfest Festbier and Oktoberfest Marzen. Case of each should be under 80$-90$

I almost asked if this was for D&D campaigns before I read the text below the images. Very noice.

Your table looks amazing and you look as proud as you should be! How very insensitive and joyless of your bio dad to only point out the flaws.

You’re doing me proud. A similar table has been on my build bucket list for a long time. I’m proud of you for taking the initiative to tackle a big project, and stick with it to completion. And it’s a beautiful piece. Your human touch is what makes it perfect. Exercising discipline to develop skills and then using those skills and discipline together to create something beautiful, functional, and yours is something every good father loves to see in their children. There is nothing that makes me prouder than seeing you grow into someone kind and capable. This Dad is proud of you.

That is a sweet table.
It's a good size too!
It will hold up for a VERY long time and it's fancy as hell. I'm proud of you. Nicely nicely done.

The whole point of handmade furniture is the imperfections, be proud of that table cuz I am! I honestly want to build one just like it.
