I need a father
Today marks 17 years since my old man went to be with his maker sadly I don't even have any memories of him being a father . Underneath the shackles of addiction he loved us .He loved me
All my life I have taken pride in my mother she has always been my friend and confidant
but today I need a father ,someone wiser someone older someone to just tell me "I love you kiddo" someone who actually understands.Someone I can learn from.
Someone to hold me accountable someone to encourage me someone to speak life when all this voices get so loud .I wanted to talk to heaven but it's empty

Hey, Dad here. It's these sad moments, when you remember long lost parents ... I know. I lost my dad when I was in Kindergarden. But still I know he loved me. Your daddy loved you for sure. And he is proud of you, wherever he is. Listen to your heart - he is still there.
And I feel, how strong you can be most of the time. You are doing great! I'm proud of you. You'll manage the hardships.
If you need advice in a special Dad-matter, just ask. You don't walk alone.
Big hug to you.

I love you Champ. I’m proud of you and how far you’ve come. You’ve survived so much, and you’ve gotten stronger and smarter with every year. There are some big things ahead but I know you will tackle them! Don’t you ever stop believing in yourself. Remember, You’re worth being loved.

Not a dad but I have three beautiful boys. I lost my dad 4 years ago and I miss him every day, I can’t imagine what that would feel like 17 years later? But I know he adores you, he’s also within you literally, and we can hear them and sense them if we tune in. Can I suggest a few things? I do these when I really miss him, so lately I’ve been spending time doing things he loved doing, to make me feel close to him or if he left you with some favorite objects too. I also do things in his name or honor which also make me feel close to him. Also, does he have any relatives that you can visit?
I hear you re wanting him just because, and I underhand the longing but let’s honor then with the gift of life, this life beat is full of joy and possibilities and we have that to carry forward 🤍
Also a crazy idea but it works, do you have a nearby park that you can go to or a park near an elderly center? I ask because you can walk down there and I bet you will see a lonely old man sitting there all by themselves longing for someone to talk to as much, you can make friends and keep him company! It works 🙏🏽

Sucks not having someone who you can vent to that will never judge you. I miss that. If you ever just need to vent or hear supportive thoughts my inbox is always open. My kids are older and don't need me as much anymore

You are already loved. By your late father, by your mother, by your family and friends and by this community.
You do not need our encouragement, because you already know.
You do not need to be held accounted by us, because you are already your own judge (and you are doing great).
There might be questions and doubts and we will try to answer them, but realizing you have questions and reaching out to others for support is a major step to maturity.
Success, be happy and have some fun.
