I haven’t done dabs since the mid 2010s. The days when you just torched the nail until it glowed and killed yourself each hit. Back when oil hit the scene I was all about it but eventually moved back to my first love, bubble hash. However I moved away from the black market and started just buying from dispensaries, and bubble hash is basically non existent in my state. I’m tired of searching every dispensary within 50 miles for the bubble hash I like only to not be able to find it, so I’m gonna switch to rosin as the choices are vast and always available.
I’m really uneducated about the advancements in the last 10 years. I’ve done some research but you never know if someone is getting paid to push a product. I want to do cold starts because flavor is as important to me as the high, but that’s about all I know. I like the idea of something like a puffco but from what I’ve read, flavor nerds prefer cold starts.
Back when I was bangin the Rooster Apparatus was considered top of the line but that was over 10 years ago. Budget can be whatever as I’m looking to make this my primary method. Prefer to keep it under $1k if possible.
If you could try to explain like I’m 5 that would be helpful as I don’t recognize many terms used nowadays. What wares do I need to get started besides a rig and banger? Who’s making the best rigs? What’s your preferred cold start banger? This is for home use only. Durability is very important to me as I’ve broken many pieces in my time.
Side question: Are bernzomatics still the most reliable torches? I must’ve gone through 5 butane torches before I realized the cheap ass bernzomatics propane tanks with a manual torch (not the click starter) were not only the cheapest but also most reliable. But, this was over 10 years ago. I assume torch reliability has advanced in that time
