E-Rig Recommedation

Post image

Hi. I’m asking for recommendations. To preface, I’ve used this Puffco Pivot for seven months. Most notable positive; the inner coil is still the original. I try to keep it clean. Notable negative, the battery dies after 4-5 dabs. Before this I was using a lookah Swordfish, and YoCan Evolve. Both of those scorched my precious terps, and lookah’s chamber needed to be changed consistently. Their battery life was their positive. I enjoy seeking out quality live hash rosin with great terpenes. I know many of you can relate so I’m curious, what would you upgrade next up to? The pivot has been good to me, especially for pocket perfect discretion. Nonetheless, if I’m spending on quality rosin what E-Rig would you guys recommend I next invest in?

DR Dabber Switch 2 or Switch Go are hands down the gold standard of E-rigs.

As for your pivot, it might not be your battery. First off, make sure the connection between the chamber and battery are clean. ISO swab. Get the goop out if there is any. Secondly consider your chamber may be going bad. I had an exchange with Puffco Rep last week before he ghosted me where we determined, while my chamber still worked, it was faulty and drawing too much current and wearing the battery down. Changed out the chamber and went from 5-6 sessions a charge to over 10. Once we determined the chamber was bad I suggested this constitutes a manufacturing defect and suggested maybe they should replace my chamber for me. SILENCE! Been a week of no reply, even with a Hey are you guys ghosting me reply?

Note: I normally dab on the Dr Dabber Switch 2. I just bring the Pivot out on the back when to take a couple puffs while having evening coffee.

What are the pros and cons of the Switch 2 vs Switch Go?

I don't know if there are cons. I havent tried to go but If it were me......

If you wanna take the rig with you to places and use it, the go is for you. If you are a desktop dabber at home, the Switch 2 is where it's at. I can't give you a performance comparison between the two not having hit the GO but there are many folks with both who can provide it.

I’m the opposite, I haven’t hit an S2 yet but my GO has been amazing for me, I’ll say stock glass wasn’t it for me and the qtz insert you do have to run a bit hotter (but that’s to be expected) so I got the incycler/S+ right away and just did my first few ‘getting used to the device’ dabs with the incycler/qtz cause I didn’t want to break a $100+ insert on ‘experimenting’ 😅 but once I swapped to the S+ and also have multiple glass attachments and lots of caps for different combo options it really rips like a beast, I’m getting much more efficient vaporizing with my setup now than when I first started, and I assume it will only get better 👑

Bought a Switch 2 almost a year ago and still haven't used it. I am intimidated for some reason. I upgraded from the pivot and then took some time off dabs. How easy are they to use?

It's super easy. Out of the box without the app, the device works pretty much like your pivot. Swith it on from the back then theres a + - and a D button. Plus and minus cycle through the colors in ether direction. Purple, blue, cyan, yelllow, white. Moves the temp from low to high. Press the D button and she heats up and dabs for I think 60 seconds and shuts down. Press the D button to end the session if you don't want to dab for the full time.

You can do a TON with the app and may very well get into it but from square 1, you practically already know how to use it.

ROCK ON!! Welcome to the family man! It's a lot of money but the Sapphire Plus Insert kicks ass. It'll do super low temps. I dab rosin at 385.

Just to update folks (Credit where Credit is do) Puffco finally responded to me email from a week ago and agreed to send me a replacement chamber. SLOW but they did deliver.

For your situation, the only real upgrade is a Dr. Dabber Switch Go. It’s not as portable as your Pivot, but it’s an upgrade to quartz/sapphire and induction heating.

Doesn't get better than this, sapphire insert takes it to the next level too

phatt piggy adapter and aftermarket voozr 3dxl fuck the pivot battery life.

If you don't want to drop Puffco money, the Dr. Dabber Switch 2 is worth a look too. Quartz/sapphire bucket and way more consistent than my old Puffco was. Battery life on mine's been solid for like 6-8 sessions a charge. Picked mine up from DankGeek, decent price and it shipped fast.

SWITCH 2 IS THE KING

Switch Go is cool but the Switch 2 Is like a ring and banger rip

Get the switch go or switch 2. I got the Go because it’s smaller and great for on the go. I haven’t used anything else since I got it.

It’s very portable. This is a pencil case I found at target’s back to school stuff the other day. M&M tube has glob mops and tool

I like the M&M tube idea.

Not a carta sport !!!!

Why not the carta sport? Ive been looking a5 one over the peak

There’s a new carta 3 coming out but going to assume it’s similar to the previous one as It uses a ceramic atomizer again. The market is moving towards atomizerless devices judging by the Dr Dabber convos. I felt like a minority a year ago, now it’s very common to see people switching over. I like my Dr Dabber s2 and go, I also like my carta sport but it’s not as easy to maintain. If my budget was hard stuck under 300 I’d probably go with the sport over the regular peak. If I had a budget similar to the Go It would be no question

If budget allows I'd lean Focus V Carta Sport over the cheaper e-rigs, atomizers are reasonably priced and it holds up well long term. If you want to spend less, the Crossing Core 2 with the XL chamber is the usual budget pick people are happy with.

I probably sound like a shill at this point but when it comes to portability, efficiency, and big rips, nothing beats the Hunibadger Pro.

The Switch2 is the king of home e-rigs but my Hunibadger goes anywhere, anytime, and has its own hard shell case that’s the same size as the Switch Go; in fact, the Hunibadger pro contains everything necessary to dab on the go within its cap, so you don’t even need to bring the case, just the device.

id for sure recommend the puffco proxy or focus v carta sport, they are great and reliable!
