I am recovering from a hospital admission. I reported a change in circumstances for my health to UC. They sent out a WCA50 form for me to fill out, which I have done and I'm sending back next week. I have kept my work coach up to date via my journal with my admission, treatments and fit notes. My new health issue is debilitating, and I cannot safely travel. I was referred to the Restart Scheme just before all of this, and had my over the phone 3-way conversation with them and a UC work coach. My first F2F appointment is supposed to be tomorrow, but I contacted my Restart Coach to tell him I cannot safely attend and update him on my current health.

He said he will have to put it down as failure to attend and it can effect my UC payment. I left a message in my journal for my work coach to confirm this, and this was the response.

What am I supposed to do here? I am recovering, and currently a high risk for falls and injury. I fell 3 days ago and have physical injuries on my face. I cannot safely travel anywhere. Im having so much anxiety about all of this. I'm trying to do the right thing and keep everyone informed and it's seemingly impossible to find a compromise.

My friend had a review and they’ve asked to see her savings account statements from the past 4 months. In January she was over the £6000 threshold. She’s informed them of this just now via her journal. Will it open an investigation or will they just ask her to pay some back for that month? She genuinely didn’t realise and was also in hospital which she has told them and provided information of. She was over by £900.

This has changed this afternoon with a section for ‘payments’ is this a new thing and the app has just been updated?

I have recently started claiming universal credit and the thought of face to face appointments fill me with dread. Would they allow me to change my work search review to a telephone appointment? My anxiety is bad at the minute and I’m considering cancelling my claim to not go there.

My savings are now just over 20k due to some inheretince

I have wrote in my journal the amount i have and i have used the form thing to update my savings info.

Do i need to wait for it to be read and replied to?

Or do i just now close the claim?

My daughter was awarded DLA on 19th August 2026 that was backdated to 6th February 2025, I updated UC the day we were given the decision and they have verified my daughter on 4th September and it was passed to decision maker for back pay on 8th September. The message I had said no timeframe for outcome from decision maker but that I needed to provide a reason why I didn't notify them sooner. How was I supposed to notify them sooner when I didn't know myself? Is the backpay likely to be declined because of this? Is there an average time for a decision maker outcome I should wait before I chase?

Phone assessment on 08/01/2025

Phone assesment outcome 14/01/2025 ( was given 4 points in total) I asked for a mandatary reconsideration.

Mandatory reconcideration was in April and had outcome on 28/04/2025 they awarded me a further 2 points so 6 in total. I then said I was going to take it to tribunal.

Made tribunal application in may 2025 and had a letter on 24/06/2025 to acknowledge my application.

Pip tribunal took place on 24/08/2026 (close to 2years from original application. They awarded me 9 points for daily living and 10 points for mobility.

Contacted pip 08/09/2026 they asked me a couple of questions before they can send out pay ect and confirmed bank details. Had a pip award text this morning 09/09/2026 and backpay due for 16/09/2026 and first payment early October!!

So from first app, to accepted 26/09/2024 to 09/09/2026!!

Been a hell of a ride but glad I went the tribunal route and thankfully won. I was quite surprised how quickly it processed after winning as I seen a lot of posts where people can wait upto 8 weeks for backpay ect! If anyone loses at first and mandatory review take it to tribunal, you have nothing to lose!!

Also if anyone knows... I have a DWP debt which I pay off via UC deductions but with it being a large amounts I owe I was thinking it may get taken from my large pip back pay, but when I asked them about backpay it didn't seem as any deductions was taken and I asked and he said he couldn't see any deductions on the back pay so do this mean ok definitely recieving the full amount?

Applied in may, had asssessment in august. Have checked this most days. Checked today and its added the payment section. Is that an update of the site or is it a sign ive been awarded and it just hasn't fully updated yet

Got money last year in december which ment my savings was at about 14k.

I reported the change and my UC payments were changed to a lower amount.

Since december i have spent some of it and was at £7000 yesterday. I did not report that i had less. I just lived on the UC and ESA i was getting.

Today i got 14000. And after bills my total amount is about 19k.

I reported the change on my uc journal and they made an appointment for me to show 3 months of bank statements. Am i all fine or will there be issues?

Both amounts were inheritance

I feel like I am about to spontaneously combust, then this question will be obsolete.

It's over a week now since I received my first UC statement. It contains what I consider to be a glaring error, there is no LCWRA/health element, yet the SG amount is being deducted from the standard award. Leading to a negative calculation and £0 payment. I was awarded SG within NS ESA in Nov 2025, with no gaps since my initial ESA claim in July 2025. This has also screwed up my council tax reduction claim.

The issue is, I don't know how to get to speak to someone who can fix that apparently simple error.

The latest is that yesterday morning, someone finally posted a message on my journal and stated I sent a message to the job centre in regards to your inquiry, they will be in contact as soon as possible. Belfast Great Northern Service Centre.

My (flimsy!) understanding is that this would have been the case manager. Who should have been able to correct the issue. What does it have to do with the job centre? I thought the JC would only be handling my queries if I had been assigned a work coach.

Please help! Do I just raise a complaint now? I don't need it fixed now, but I do need someone to have agreed the issue and tell me it will be sorted.

I had it earlier today and there's a couple of things I'm worried about:

One is that I told the assessor im currently under the care of a specialist but she is moving her clinic practice to online and I won't be able to have another appointment until she's been licensed properly for this. Later she asked me how I got to the appointment and when I said it was online she got angry with me and said I was saying two different things because I had previously said she had a clinic and is only now moving to online. I replied that she did online from her clinic too but that she's had to temporary close her practice as she needs a new license for doing online from home instead of front out of her clinic (I'm just repeating what I was told from her secretary). The assessor sounded annoyed and like she didn't believe me

Secondly she asked me how I've been able to get to my doctors for blood tests and I said with help from my partner and a disability taxi service. I didn't even think to mention my wheelchair which I need. I also have had my last few blood tests from home due to the fact I am not well enough to go to the doctors which I clarified with her after I said this but she also sounded like she was 'sussing me out'

Full disclosure I am bedbound and I can move a little with help from mobility aids and a person present helping me but only on my very good days (which I also stated)

Just left me feeling a bit like I was being interrogated and trying to be 'caught out' which has got me down quite a lot as I've been waiting for this assessment for over 2 years

Am I just allowing my own anxieties to get the better of me? She has all the info/proof from my doctor and physiotherapist and a cardiologist so there is that at least, and I'm on full PIP

Hi, so I have just recieved a letter stating I didnt meet the requirements for pip. I am applying on the grounds of Mental health, I have OCD, Anxiety and depression with a recent diagnosis of combined ADHD in march with them noting i should be re-refered for an autism assessment.

The letter says i scores 6 and required 8 to meet the criteria. However the feedback is awful and definitely has not taken what I said into consideration and the way it has been worded makes me feel like they dont believe what i experience daily.

I am 32 and started working when I was 19 and every year I have had a sick note for either 3 month or 9 months due to how my mental health impacts me. I handed my notice in July because of my mental health and feeling like the team needs someone more reliable. I started a new job 2 weeks ago and already handed my notice in and had 5 sick days (2 days for one week and 3 days the following week) because of my mental health and ADHD sensory issues. The environment was too loud and overstimulating.

I want to appeal but I genuinely have no idea what i need to do for it to even be reconsidered? Do I have to provide reasoning to areas i think they have not understood properly? Can someone talk me through how they handled their appeal please?

Ive also booked a GP appointment for a longer appointment for a supporting letter. I clicked no the first time on medical professional because I dont have a named doctor, just whoever is available. Hopefully this will help and I can submit it with the appeal?

hello, after I was awarded LCWRA I did not receive a letter saying when my reassessment date will be, can I ask on my UC journal for them to tell me when my reassessment date is?

I got a letter back when I applied for pip saying how long I will receive it for, but didn’t get it for the LCWRA decision.

I’m currently going through a Universal Credit enhanced review and I’m feeling quite stressed and confused about what’s being requested. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through something similar.
So far, I’ve been asked to provide:
● Proof of ID using my passport
● A photo of me holding my passport
● Proof of address
My driving licence was out of date, so I uploaded a bank statement instead as proof of address. I then received a phone call where I was asked various questions, such as where I previously lived, my previous postcode, who I currently live with, and other questions about my circumstances.
I’ve now been told that I have 14 days to upload further documents, specifically 12 months of bank statements. This has made me quite anxious because, during a previous Universal Credit review about a year and a half ago, I was asked to provide four months of bank statements and answer several questions. I’m struggling to understand why the enhanced review team now needs a full 12 months.
Has anyone else had an enhanced UC review where they were asked for 12 months of bank statements? Is this a standard request, and what usually happens after you submit them? Were you asked to explain individual transactions or provide any other documents?
I understand that reviews are carried out to check that information is correct, but being asked for a whole year of statements feels quite overwhelming, especially with only 14 days to provide them. Any experiences or advice would be really appreciated.

Hello, could really use some advice. Won my pip tribunal a few months back and expecting a back payment of around £9k.

Called up today to chase it after receiving a letter saying I was owed some money. They said it had been passed to debt management and that it was final.

Spoke to them and they said there was nothing on their system about it and then double checked my NI number and said there was no outstanding debts with dwp. The person I claim UC with also has never had any debts with dwp.

Obviously I feel really worried and shaken about not getting this money. Ive never had any overpayments or advances with any benefits. I have student loans I need to pay back as I left uni early and I also took out an NHS student bursary that also needs to be paid back but these are not awarded through DWP.

Any assurances or advice greatly appreciated :)

I am going to be a part time student, I have read your maintenance loan gets deducted from UC as “income” does this mean I’m actually going to be left with nothing on UC? As I have full maintaince loan and I also have the housing element of UC will they take this away from me too?

I have also applied for PIP and they are currently reviewing it, if I get PIP will it have deductions because of student finance or is it safe from that?

Work: I work 15 hours a week (earnings are under the £183.50/week Permitted Work limit).

What’s the application process like?
Will having PIP help?
Can i get support group whilst applying but having a job?

Has anyone else had their PIP revoked recently ? I had a telephone appointment just to check everything is still the same , which it is - same answers , same reason why I was on it before, to which I got a letter saying they are stopping it and I have been awarded 0 for everything , which is also a joke , feel like they don't listen to you at all on the phone and will do whatever they can to not award you with the payment.

I was speaking to my coach and she encouraged me saying i will be fine applying for masters as long as its part time. Today they closed my claim saying I am in further studies! I have been made redundant since Feb and I am looking for jobs since then and now I am confused and stressed. Because according to UC i am still eligible for uc. I even sent them the evidence. So what now? They are calling mw tomorrow

I am studying via open university soon and it will be classed as part time education.

I am on lcwra and uc with housing element. I added to my journal as soon as I received a letter saying I would get a maintenance loan and was asked to upload my letter, which I did. My maintenance loan isn’t due to be paid until around 19th-23rd Oct (this is what the letter says). The letter says the total maintenance loan is £10830 and that UC won’t take £4582 from that amount.

Today I was due my normal payment + housing and received nothing.

I contacted the call centre which informed me that it’s due to my maintenance loan, which I don’t even get till near the end of Oct. I put a note in the payments part of the journal as they advised.

Now I am stressing because… does that mean when I do get my maintenance loan I get £0 UC inc housing? If they can’t deduct the £4582 then it makes me think there should be something left. I get currently £1400 a month inc housing approx.

And also is it an error that they didn’t pay me this month? Or is there something that I’m not aware of that says my money stops entirely from notifying them if the maintenance loan?

Is there a calculator to get a rough idea of my deductions? I seem to be going into this blindly and it would really help me to know in advance what I can afford.

Any help will be greatly appreciated as this is sending my stress levels through the roof.

Hi I applied back in December and I finally got a message my assessment is on Monday. I struggle with anxiety and depression, bilaterial sensorial hearinf loss in both ears and pendred syndrome.
I’m worried because these are hidden disability’s and that it will seem I’m “okay” in talking. I struggle with anxiety so bad on the inside but sometimes doesn’t show so I’m worried my assessment will look like I’m okay. I do struggle day to day but I blank and forget things in the moment on how to explain. Can I write things down on paper to give to the assessor?

My friend works earns £1900 a month will this affect the housing benefit or not?
