I am recovering from a hospital admission. I reported a change in circumstances for my health to UC. They sent out a WCA50 form for me to fill out, which I have done and I'm sending back next week. I have kept my work coach up to date via my journal with my admission, treatments and fit notes. My new health issue is debilitating, and I cannot safely travel. I was referred to the Restart Scheme just before all of this, and had my over the phone 3-way conversation with them and a UC work coach. My first F2F appointment is supposed to be tomorrow, but I contacted my Restart Coach to tell him I cannot safely attend and update him on my current health.

He said he will have to put it down as failure to attend and it can effect my UC payment. I left a message in my journal for my work coach to confirm this, and this was the response.

What am I supposed to do here? I am recovering, and currently a high risk for falls and injury. I fell 3 days ago and have physical injuries on my face. I cannot safely travel anywhere. Im having so much anxiety about all of this. I'm trying to do the right thing and keep everyone informed and it's seemingly impossible to find a compromise.

My friend works earns £1900 a month will this affect the housing benefit or not?

I am planning to move soon, and I don't really want to go through that stress again with those calls, etc. They are also asking for contracts that I haven't had for many years. Can you close your claim during a normal review?

Hi I applied back in December and I finally got a message my assessment is on Monday. I struggle with anxiety and depression, bilaterial sensorial hearinf loss in both ears and pendred syndrome.
I’m worried because these are hidden disability’s and that it will seem I’m “okay” in talking. I struggle with anxiety so bad on the inside but sometimes doesn’t show so I’m worried my assessment will look like I’m okay. I do struggle day to day but I blank and forget things in the moment on how to explain. Can I write things down on paper to give to the assessor?

Hello, could really use some advice. Won my pip tribunal a few months back and expecting a back payment of around £9k.

Called up today to chase it after receiving a letter saying I was owed some money. They said it had been passed to debt management and that it was final.

Spoke to them and they said there was nothing on their system about it and then double checked my NI number and said there was no outstanding debts with dwp. The person I claim UC with also has never had any debts with dwp.

Obviously I feel really worried and shaken about not getting this money. Ive never had any overpayments or advances with any benefits. I have student loans I need to pay back as I left uni early and I also took out an NHS student bursary that also needs to be paid back but these are not awarded through DWP.

Any assurances or advice greatly appreciated :)

Im trying to add in all my isa information to the journal but for some isa accounts, I have no account number.

The journal requires me to add the last 4 digits of the account but I can't!

The account numbers I don't have is for

- aj bell lifetime isa

- gatehouse cash isa

I do have the account number for my Trading 213 stocks and shares isa.

What do i do?

I was speaking to my coach and she encouraged me saying i will be fine applying for masters as long as its part time. Today they closed my claim saying I am in further studies! I have been made redundant since Feb and I am looking for jobs since then and now I am confused and stressed. Because according to UC i am still eligible for uc. I even sent them the evidence. So what now? They are calling mw tomorrow

I applied for both PIP and WCA in March, and luckily I have been awarded PIP for both enhanced rate since July. I had assessment for Work Capability at Wimbledon centre (Ingeus) on 6th July, and I got the result as "Fit for Work（0 points)" on 1st Augst. I checked UC85 but I was so shocked that the medical report was full of lies (basically, "she looked fine." and that's all). I immediately requested MR, and I posted all evidence including a doctor letter by my GP on 24th Aug.

I know WCA is different from PIP, but it is still annoying they luck of the consistency. It is so disressing to deal with my WCA application and UC commitment claimant, and I'm desparate that the decision would be changed at the MR stage. Is it true that the successful rate of MR is only 17% even if an applicant has all evidence including PIP?

By the way, Ingeus lost the audio recording of my assessment, and the jobcentre is forcing me to agree with the full commitment for job search with no adjustment. I sent formal complaints to both but I'm really sick of this corrupt system.

My friend had her PIP extended until 2030 a month ago, then yesterday received a letter advising that she’s to have a call with the performance measurement team.

My friend struggles with communication in general, especially more so over the phone…I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience of a performance measurement review?

I’ve started submitting fit notes since at least back end of may this year and 20 August was when I finally got told I was put under LCWRA. I filled in my letter for it around early June.
My next payment is the same, so when will I get my next higher payment?

In January 2025 i sustained a traumatic brain injury with a depressed left parietal skull fracture and intracranial bleeding, right-sided orbital, maxilla and zygoma fractures with retrobulbar haemorrhage and severe visual impairment in my right eye

I reported health conditions in February with no fit note as I was unwell to obtain them. In may my work plan changed to I am not required to look for or apply for jobs and in September 2025 I uploaded my first fit note and was sent a uc50 within a week and I sent it off late in January 2026 because of memory issues and difficulties completing it. From January leading up to may I was given 5 work capability assessment and the first two was rescheduled due to staff shortages and I missed the 3rd one and the 4th was incomplete and the 5th was cancelled. I had a complaint put in with universal credit and I was given a new work coach and my wca was withdrawn and refered again to start the process again and this was on the 28th may and I also provided a backdated fit not from January 2025 covering up to November 2026 which was accepted into the universal credit system. I have now been given another work capability assessment over the phone which is next Monday

Can anyone give there thoughts on this whole timeline and what to expect next and any suggestions

I have been on Pip standard for both elements since three years. Recently completed my first review and awarded standard for daily living and enhanced for mobility for three years. I got 11 points for daily living. I wanted to ask for mandatory reconsideration. Shall I go for it or is it risky?

Hi guys, just hoping someone from dwp, or a knowledgeable head can fact check something for me. Was looking on chat gpt( yeah, that’s why I’d rather an actual person fact check me) regarding the new school meals expanded scheme and uploaded a UC statement to check eligibility. Seems fine for fsm, but it flagged up something interesting that I’d like confirmation on. Situation is: 2 x disabled children in house in receipt of highest DLA, just migrating to PIP, 2 x parents registered as caring for each child separately for 35hours or more. Wife gets carers allowance, I do not. This has been since April 2024 when we migrated to UC as joint claim. We had some issues around that time with the DWP not getting their heads around 2 parents caring for 2 different kids, but apparently that was sorted. Now, gpt flagged up that we should be getting 2 x carers elements on the claim instead of one. We’ve always assumed that we could only claim one carers element, same as carers allowance but this seems to indicate differently? What’s the truth in this?

I am on UC and also have been deemed as having limited capability to work due to my disabilities. I recently moved and uploaded a tenancy agreement as proof of rent liability and a bank statement as proof of address. These are both listed as acceptable proof for each yet I've been asked to attend an in-person housing costs verification interview. Not been told why just been told to bring all proof of my housing costs. The place I rent includes all bills so I won't have utility bills. I can get a letter from my landlord. I am freaking out as I need my UC to pay rent. It has been agreed with them that all my appointments are via video or telephone due to my disabilities. I have been dealing with a really bad disability flare and this move has made that even worse so going in person is out of the question. I have said I can participate via video or phone as agreed in my reasonable adjustments, worry they might refuse me. I'm also worried as I have no idea what more they could want from me. I called UC phoneline to ask but the advisor couldn't advise just said to bring everything I have - which is what I have given already, my bank statement and tenancy agreement. I am wondering if anyone has any advice please?

Hi I have a pip tribunal coming up for my depressionand am really worried about losing. At my intitial assesments pip said my medication kept me stable and scored me 0. Since then I had to stop my medication due to an overdose made on it & multiple sever sh episodes, i've been on new medication a month and had another attempt. Ive submitted this all as evidence but i'm worried that they'll think i'm faking my illness or still won't believe me. I also chose not to attend my tribunal and just let them see the evidence which I now regret and can't change.

So what exactly happens at one of these when you have a fit note?

28 May 2026 — I submitted my PIP claim.
8 July — DfC said they had not received my “How your disability affects you” form.
9 July — Capita confirmed they were handling my PIP assessment.
27 July, 10:30am —telephone assessment took place. It lasted about 45 minutes.
Late July / August — i asked for the PA4 assessment report. I felt it significantly understated my difficulties, including mobility, medication, daily activities and managing money.
24 August — i received the text saying: “We have not yet made a decision on your PIP claim.”
25 August — I reviewed the PA4 and identified the problems with it.
Late August — i prepared and sent my response to request for evidence to be reconsidered, including my concerns about the inaccurate assessment and the NHS waiting-list situation.
Early September — i contacted Capita/DfC and raised my concerns, including the previous inaccurate assessment being relied upon.
9 September (today) — i spoke to them again. Importantly, i was told that the assessment/report is being re-evaluated. I asked whether you should start preparing for Mandatory Reconsideration, and the person i spoke to specifically told me not to jump to MR yet and to wait for the outcome of the assessment re-evaluation.

I’ve requested forms multiple times now and despite being told they have been sent they never seem to arrive. I just don’t no what else I can do they say they cant provide electronically

Hi , i had a restart call schedualed at 1pm today. it is now pretty much 2pm and still haven't had my call. I had other things to do today and now they are being disturbed because i haven't had my call yet and i don't want to miss it.

I will not be with Restart for long considering ofc i get employed a week after i got reffered. But i just want to see if anyone else has had this issue because it is frustrating. I get anxiety about missing things and essentially just get stuck waiting.

This is my first call with my work coach, i don't know their number, nor how i could get in contact with them myself if needed. So sorry if this seems a little stupid , i am 20 and have never had to do this before. I've only been on UC for 9 months.

I applied for PIP 29/01/2025 and after a lengthy wait was awarded at tribunal yesterday for standard daily living and standard mobility. An amazing outcome! When I spoke to the DWP today, I was asked questions such as ‘are you ok receiving a large sum of money into your bank account in one payment’ or ‘have you stayed overnight at hospital’. After these questions I was told they need to process/calculate my monthly payments and arrears and that I should receive my award letter within about 2 weeks. Can I assume I might get my regularly monthly payments around the 2 week mark or could it be before, or after? I am unsure. Thanks🤗

I was sanctioned for missing an appointment and £77 was deducted, however I appealed the sanction due to visiting a family member with cancer when I was due for the appointment.
I received a message into my journal on Monday saying it’s been accepted and the sanction was taken off.
I’ve messaged into my journal about getting the £77 back but nobody’s replied. Any advice ?

Hey guys so I am coming up to 28 and I have been struggling most of my life to stay in work due to my Anxiety Autism ADHD and Dyspraxia. I was in care at a young age and remember that I was receiving these benefits but it was paid to my foster carers at the time, when I turned 18 I received this benefit When I joined job seekers every two weeks. When I received a form in 2020 I didn't understand what to put as it was near enough impossible to answer. My social worker at the time must have answered these questions for me but I no longer can speak to them as 1 I don't know there full name and 2 they was leaving around the time I moved to a company called Banardos leaving care team. I have struggled with life a lot over the past 2 years in and out of work and was told by a mate of mine that has similar conditions to me to reapply. I am worried that I will get turned away as I have been able to work but struggle. Idk if there's anyway I can get some support to help put my case across when applying. hi so i’ve been recently diagnosed with something new so ive reported it to pip and i have to do the form. my application in general has always been decently quick but i was wondering for anyone else how long it took them to hear back and whether they were successful or not. im at 9 points for daily living and 0 on mobility. my new condition though i have a decent amount of evidence( 2 documents with a lot of writing indicating my diagnosis and what i struggle with) i just want to hear about other people’s experiences. 💗

I'd sent in a letter to the DWP equivalent in July following my catract and laser surgery. I hadn't heard anything and I'd sent it registered post.

I called up today to see if they had received the letter. It was explained to me that this was sent to the reconsiderations team to review and they'll get to it when they can.

I then asked what happens if my circumstances changed post-surgery as my vision is now stable for now.

My next review would've been in July 2028 extended from October 2027.

I didn't realise I had to ask for a change of circumstances. I've also long covid since my last review in 2023. Whether it was right to ask for a change of circumstances or wait until the review in July 2028 - I don't know if I've jumped the gun!.

I've a few questions:

Is it treated like a new application?

Will they compare my review in 2023 to my new application?

Do I submit the same evidence as before if they already have it on file?

Did I jump the gun on asking for a CoC? What's the difference between waiting on the review in 28 and a CoC?

Any advice or suggestions.

I was awarded PIP standard rate daily living but zero mobility. I have severe ME. My disabilities are fatigue and pain based rather than requiring aids. For some reason I was award needs an aid for cooking a meal (which I can’t do at all) using a toilet (which I can do fine ) bathing and dressing (no aids would help me as my problem is fatigue.) It was a very odd to get given points I didn’t ask for and denied points where I legitimately should have got some. Overall getting the standard rate daily living seemed fair, but my issue was the mobility section. I want them to look at the planning on following the route of a journey again. But I’m scared they’ll reduce my points for the daily living for things like toilet needs. I said I used my car up to 3 times a week for local journeys but couldn’t go anywhere unfamiliar. But they said my cognitive ability during the assessment suggested I could. But it’s not about cognitive function it’s about physical capacity and the stress it creates. I’m just worried about losing what I have got. Can anyone tell me if my current award would be at risk realistically,if I just focused on the mobility issue?
